I keep searching for who I am
I weep and bury my face in the sand
Hoping to find what truly defines me
Is it my natural curls or my hips and curves
Could it be my tribe, or the color of my skin
What unifies me as a whole?
What is my identity?
A hidden question am yet to unravel
From deep within my soul
I am my dreams and hopes travelling a thousand miles into the horizon
I am a gift waiting to be unwrapped filled with gold and treasures that are yet to be untold
This is who i am

Everything i once loved is now gone
All i once held dear
Is burnt down to ash
All the feelings i felt
Soft as a quilt
Are now gone with the wind
The reality i built on love
Is now an illusion built on strength
All i thought was a reality
Was a huge lie built on empty words
Love can be an illusion when you're
Blinded by feelings of obssession
It can change your entire life
Or break your world in a split second.
Ilusions are more like fairy tales
You have a dream;
wake up and its all gone.

We need to stop settling for less
We are strong enough to work hard for whatever we desire
