Up a flight of creaking stairs
And cobweb ridden walls
Across a long dark pathway
Paved in shards of broken glass
Through a door with bolted hinges
Lies an entrance to the past
Around a long molding table
Lined with upturned chairs
Where kings and knights once sat before
But far gone are those years
The dust lies settled thickly
Untouched by times caress
And nothing living makes a sound
A perfect set oppresed
An overwhelming solitude
A silence yet the same
A ghostly touch of harmony
A future that never came.
