You came around on your bamboo hobby-horse. Encircling chairs and benches and dangling in your hand was a branch of green plums. Attached to one another in youth, no doubts or suspicious arise. They lived like this together depending on each other. Two little ones, no jealousy, no distrust. Being together for a long time for 18 years.

will you catch me if i fall?
surely you wouldn't, you're simply glass,
still, lost breaths cry from ones you harass.
the girl in the mirror with blackholes for eyes,
wears daisies and sunshine for disguise.
they cut her voice so she cuts her skin,
she lives her life tiptoeing on safety pins.
mirror mirror on the wall,
wouldn't it be nice if i could stand tall?
but how can i, if when i look,
all i see is my last fight hanging by a hook?
i am indebted to you for the hatred you've bred
for the girl in the mirror, you're in my head.
you awaken the hurricanes swept under my ribcage,
and by midnight, my crippling sanity falls in rage.
mirror mirror on the wall,
haven't i given you my all and all?
what more do you want from me?
you've bleached my colour, i guarantee.
a grenade heart spilled on granite tiles,
were you lying when you said the pain would be worthwhile?

i find myself reminiscing back to the milliseconds in which our hands would clumsily brush against one another,

things like how my father keeps his whiskey and vodka in the writing bureau, and how he has a notification set for Miss Infidelity to keep him on guard for his next sin; and things like how i sometimes wait for the shower to feel like lava on my skin, just to burn away the stares of hungry menfolk that have carved their comments into my bones.
and yes, there are certain things that my lips are not supposed to speak of. but i have gone and done the barred again, anyway, like i always have. stepping out of lines that i should have stayed in, like that autumn evening when i told you you carried the light within me; stepping out of my good-girl canvasses and jumping right into pits of reckless getaways and actions breaching rules and curfews.
now that you're gone i start to wonder if you had drowned under the hulking cargo of the rollercoaster rides that make me.
and there are also certain things that i choose to not let my lips breathe into existence, like how you still have leverage over me; how i still keep the handkerchief with your scent on it under my pillowcase; how my bathroom walls still hear me mourn over our souvenirs hung on the corners of my chest.
and there are certain things i wish i could tell you, like how my stomach knots into figure-eights every time i hear your name in conversations; like how i still love you even in this bitter after.
