    Mother love

    Motherhood

In all of its multifaceted ways,
    you rose to every occasion.
From late nights and early mornings
to snotty noses and tummy aches.
    First heartbreaks and first loves.
    Moms are the greatest diary,
have no fear in your words.
    Even in disagreements,
mothers have a way of making you feel love.

It is with joy to say happy Mother's Day.
    Motherhood is the best neighborhood
and the greatest ship I've ever witnessed.
Thank you for the love you've shed.
    Even on your worse days.
You are appreciated and I love you.

    She burns herself,
    to nourish her blood,
She crafts her tears in love.
    She fights with her agowilt,
    Her stretch marks
    reflects her flawless beauty,
    Her wrinkles
    are her survival lines.
    She has fought
    hundreds of battles,
    She has been betrayed,
But she still walks with a crown
    of dignity on her head,
    She walks with
all the smears on her shoulders
    And makes it look like
    A pair of wings.
    She's powerful,
    She's invincible,
    She's independently owned,
    She's a single mom.

    Maa

    I Was And Still

I was and still a girlfriend
    All your tantrums I endured
All your side chicks I tolerated
All your dramas and lies I ignored
Having no option rather than to be there when you call

I was and still a wife
Whom you would come back restless to
And open up your emotions to
Not minding my mental state to
Dropping each vibe of yours like a bullet

I was and still a mother
    Irregardless of my daily situation
You and the kids I have to take care of
Showcasing my motherhood and marital goals
Even when I seem to be unappreciated by you

    So,
Don't judge me when you haven't walked in my shoes
Don't criticize my effort when you don't know my path
Don't discredit me for things thought within your mind
Because I was and still a girlfriend, a wife and a mother

    October/November

    Torment.
    Discomfort.
    Torturous labor.
    I see.
    I feel.
    You.
    Associated feelings.
    Contact sparks.
    Electrical love waves.
    Connected.
    We share this.
    I see.
    I feel.
    Interminably.
    You.

    The world around us changes
    And so do we
We move on in life to create a path for ourselves
In the full yet empty slots of life

But regardless of where our souls float
Home is where our heart stays

    Home
    A place or a person

Home is where we learnt to love
And home we shall keep loving
Even over the distance of time and space

    Beauty...

    Your tiny little fingers
    Encircling mine
    You seek safety
    In my embrace
    But it's you
    Who keeps me safe
    Away from insanity
    Your selfless love
    Is the definition of beauty....

    Child is a blessing

    Pressed against her Bossom
    The warmth of life
    Is her newborn baby
    Her first offspring, her pride.

    She looks into her eyes
A striking sight at those bright eyes
She bathe her child with kisses
    So fragile between her arms
She promises her baby infinite love.

    Tears overflowing with joy
    Father turned all red
A new being in a loving home
    The world welcomes another.

    Wild

Born to be wild. - Like the song.
She had two sides like everyone.
One side being that she could blow up like King Kong.
The other side describes, "Sweet Peace."
She wasn't afraid to leave things to chance.
    Some would call her careless.
Even so, she stood for "Poetic Justice."
    Life challenges us daily.
We catch ourselves saying, "What's with me lately?"
That once big loving heart suddenly shrinking and hardening.
Feeling free, was most enjoyable to her.
However feeling free lead her to also feel lonely.
    She relives her wildest memories.
    Revealing her reckless tendencies.
Fortunately, this wild woman discovered she would soon create a "Wild Child."
Life hit her with motherhood, responsibility and maturity.
Driving solo to ultrasounds and bumping "Me and You" by singer Brentwood.
Imagining the two of them getting away from it all.
For once in a very long time, she felt a sense of security.
    Not knowing what to expect.
Yet ready to experience raising a baby girl.

    Mother...

    When God created mankind,
He was in need of someone like him,
    Who cherishes mankind selflessly,
So he decided to give himself to each one,
And made us call her ‘Mom’...

    Men, remember

    We glorified
    Womanhood
    To restrict you
    To brooms.

    Celebrated
    Motherhood
    To confine you
    To rooms.

    We pitied you to
    Hold hostage in
    Soft-emotions.

    Stereotyped to
    Force you in
    Clothes of desire.

    Ladies first we
    Say,
    Unequal salaries
    We pay.

    To force you to
    Cut onions.
    Men shouldn't cry,
    We declare.

    You may wage wars.
    Rule the world.
    Mother a prophet or
    Slave a demon.

    Still, you gotta
    Take our blame
    And make our
    Homes.

    You're better than us.
    Even stronger.
    But consolation
    Prizes is all you'll get..

    Maybe another
    Child to pet.
    A saree,
    Some jwellery or

    One more poem
    Like this one to
    Exemplify your
    Compliant behavior.

    Journey to Motherhood

    Oh! That feeling was surreal
    But no it was real
    A body with two hearts
    Someone was happily sneaking inside
Arduous journey to a splendid life
Bonded together with a single cord
Without a glimpse of each other for months
    But not miles apart
    Responding to all crazy conversations
    With some gentle kicks
Revealing me how understanding you are.
    With some hard kicks ,
We cherished our happy moments together
When I'm sad you gently reminded me
    " I'm there, be happy."
With all those kicks I could sense
How naughty you are going to be.
    Awaiting for you to kick
So that I could feel your lil legs
Moving around my belly all day
    No matter how tired I'm
Your little gesture takes that away
Making me active for the rest of the day
The day I started carrying you in my belly
    All I could think about
Is the day I'm holding you in my arms.

Cooked in the pot of experience; Episode 1|| Next door neighbor series

I came knocking on your door
    No one opened
So I decided to drop a note
    Filled with hugs
    Seasoned with empathy
Cooked in the pot of experience
    Garnished with teachings and tips
    Served with love and smiles

When you showed up at my house yesterday
    Crying and smiling
    I knew you needed help
To figure out how to be that mum
    Strong and getting it together
    Posing with baby
    Keeping cute 24/7
And having double dose of sleep

    Did you know that
    You made my day
    Just by being real?
    Talking about your struggles
    And accepting your imperfections
    In the most perfect manner

    Having a newborn
Especially as a first time mum
    May leave you being cumbersome
    Be sure to understand that
    Their no perfect mom anywhere
And no one receives an award for being "most mum"

    You sounded downcast
    You reiterated feeling of despair
    I really do understand
It's a phase filled with lessons to learn
But remember, priority is your health
    While meeting baby's need

Make to-do list in the morning
    In order of importance
Do the one you can do
    So when it's night time
You don't feel like a failure
    About what you didn't achieve.

Give a treat for your little wins.
Ask for all the help you can get
    Give allowance for "ifs" and"maybes"
    It's better to use pencil
    Rather than a pen
So you can rewrite and move on
    Enjoy your little one.

    You may start documenting
Your experiences as a new mom.
Those may give you strength on quiet days.

I hope to check on you soon
I am in your support group

    Sincerely
    Your next door neighbor

    Ire oo
