Somewhere in between
Somewhere in between Grandpa's bedtime stories and sleepless nights
We grew up
Somewhere in between gazing out the window, wondering about the world ...and struggling for a life.
We grew up
Somewhere, someplace ..a lil child's frightening scream turned into a silent fight ...
Faith and hope replaced unicorns
And fairytales became a distant light ..
Somewhere in between... we grew up not to be seen
Somewhere in between we lost our dreams ...
Just...
Somewhere in Between

Life
When I was a kid all i wanted was to be a grown up.
The one to whom people listen to when they start talking,
I wanted to be that center of attention, I wanted to fit in my dad's oversized shoes, I wanted that freedom to do anything I want without the obligation to ask permission and later being denied.
Now when I look back all I can see was how happy I used to be. I was ignorant of the reality of life but i was happy. I used to smile at the first sight of rain and I used to wave at every passing plane in the sky. When the rain fills the ground with water i used to make paper boats to conquer my kingdom of imagination. For I was a kid with floating dreams who's heart was set at the dragonflies and mango trees.
I don't want this freedom with chains and locks of society. This aching responsibilities of adulthood has crumbled all my dreams of innocence and now I know what freedom means and I just hope that by all these passing years I don't come to hate life.

Ahh! Turning 18 is quite a thrill, isn't it?
For some maybe, others turn chill.
I, for one, felt both endowed and accursed
drowning in pride with wings
yet trapped in delusional freedom..
Cutoff dreams into responsibilities,
stranded, shattered beneath
bogus self; desperate enough
to blend in.
All one does is survive in infinite loop
of adulthood, me being one of you,
hoping I could somehow break
this constant moves.

Adolescence
Everything has gone wild and fearful
With the onset of my adulthood,
Where the flowers might blossom;
But the petals have fallen through.
Never, there was a sigh of relief
Nobody knows whom to believe;
And the art of ardent nature goes by time,
The world is cruel unless u hymn.

I wish I had met you when I was in my teenage, when I still believed in love, Immatured, Unstable, I wish I had met you between my childhood and adulthood at the age where everything was new to me. I wish........
©chandraprakash____199423 1 2In childhood, we cried to grow old
And enjoy a lavish life as adults.
In adulthood, we are craving to become young
And lead a peaceful life as kids.
What an irony in ages!!!!
And that's why they say
Greener is the grass that is far away.

Coming of age
Coming of age isn't something very pleasant
We become adults and suddenly tons of Responsibilities lying in our shoulders
Other people are relying on us
They expect us to succeed
Perfectionism doesn't allow a false step
Failure still makes us hit rock bottom
Making our doubts resurface from the deep
Coming of age forces us to grow
We may not like the process
Frankly, it'll hurt
Change is never gonna be a bunch of joy
It's the light that blends our eyes
Making us want to turn away our heads as if
We never saw the solution to begin with
But still it enlightens our way
And opens our heart to the clarity
So I guess it's necessary
Because life is all about stepping out
of your comfort zone
Temporary pain will be worth so much happiness
Weird way to view it
But growing up makes us look at things in a completely different light
Coming of age makes us wish for the early times They seemed easier and so plain simple
We didn't think so much, we didn't know that much So each day passes by while we live in a world formed after our perfect imagination
But now we know that we don't know anything
Our knowledge doesn't even compare to the reality So maybe we glorify the past
because the present is tough to carry
Coming of age is a part of life
Maybe coming of age isn't such a pain in the neck It's simply another step in life
Helping us grow, reflect and accept
Growing up doesn't exclude anyone
The gates are open for all kind of people
Waiting to push us into adulthood

Godsend creatures who taint your adulthood with weird and silly childhood memories in front of others.
PS. Love you mom-dad.

Moments of Lust
I listen to my memories often. Revisit the lights of my past that no longer remember my name. I'm obsessed with the girl I once was. She had courage. Passion. Beauty. Youth. Things she took for granted in the moment. I view her in my dreams when I'm awake, and trace her canvas with a tired finger as she sprints through dark forests with the other children, and makes free memories without the alcohol. Her naivety was indescribable, plastered on her sleeve like a faded warning sign, trudging through lands of positivity until they reached a cliff-end. At least they descended together, hand-in-hand, scream-in-scream, whimper-in-whimper. Now she's here. Me. Now. Searching for the ghost of a girl who ceases to exist.

The number of
T-shirts has been
Reduced to two.
The jeans in my closet,
Are disappeared too.
The themed vests
Are being replaced,
By white banyans.
Fit full-sleeved shirts.
And well stitched,
Formal pants have
Invaded my space.
Clean shaved face,
Thick moustache.
A tuft of grey hair,
Left un-attained..
Beer belly is a
New reality.
Self-acceptance is
Now a philosophy.
Age stole my
Ripped jeans,
Adulthood is gone..
A kid in the street
To call me uncle..
I've become
My father.
©unsung_seagull10 2 1Many times I don't fit into adulthood!
I sneak inside or be the child. The world can't take it either way.

Adulthood is a tug-of-war
On my right lies a child
On my left stands a wise old man
Both pull me towards their sides.
On my right lies my heart's desire
On my left lies a life all admire
Choose one for the other to backfire
Or stay in the middle until time expires

STRUGGLES
Amongst the life of muggles
Amongst the life full of struggles
Amongst the life of 9-5
All we aim is to survive
Amongst the age of growing up
People slowly lose faith on luck
Amongst the age of reaching High
People fail to live their life
Amongst the crowd
Amongst the black clouds
Fear seems to scream out
Smiling becomes difficult
Friendship seems like a miracle.

©ebubei3 0Are we there yet?
We are currently all walking around like the abused children that we are, pretending to be tough but deep down we just want someone to hold us and tell us everything is going to be okay.

When a random buddy call you and say you got busy...!!
Just tell them it's not busy...!!
You are grown-up,
You got responsibilities,
Got no time for shit

Do you remember?
Once rested we, still.
No fears came to life
But for ghosts
Likened from our dreams.
Heardy we played
With companions, and
Constructs overlay
Upon our feeble
Attempts to be kings
Of all the little
Things; lay now unseen.
We once made theatre of
War.
Battle inescapable
Pursues us now, in and out.
We relearn these lessons old
Again and again, lo!
Be there any refuge from:
The liars and dictators?
The devils and King slayers?
Slick tongues and night stalkers?
No rest no rest for our heads...
And so, to old ghosts we cling.

Craddling
I cradle my broken childhood of not being good enough
Now I feel weird, living in a compass of my path covered in unknowns because im scared.
Lost in a maze of my thoughts,
Confused in my overthinking steps,
Trapped in my unknown of solutions, for I don't know what's next.
I cradle the broken pieces of my childhood to conclude the cardinal directions of my potential to adulthood.
