I was the witch

I was the poisoned apple
Not that it mattered

Both the witch
And the apple
Ruined their fairytale.

She looked at him,
Hoping to get her fairy tale,
Doubting eyes and an uneasy heart,
Waiting for him to break the silence,
The weight of unspoken words, countless tears and bittersweet memories hung in the air,
They both held out an apple of promises,
Accepting the other's with cautious glances
She looked at the plump object that lay in her hand,
Glossy, red and seemingly perfect,
Wondering if her scarred and spotted apple was good enough for him,
She smiled as she saw him take a bite and look satisfied,
Glancing back at the perfection in her hand,
Voices inside cried out, trying to stop her,
Reminding her of the knives that scarred her apple,
But one glance at him was all it took to silence them,
Filled with hope, she took a bite,
Oh, so juicy and fresh, she wondered,
Wiping away tears, she held out her hand,
Red as the apple,
She tried to scream as the black apple fell from her hands,
Unfortunately, the poison was too strong
Gasping for air, she looked up at him,
Watching him carelessly toss away her apple that he'd devoured so recklessly,
"Why?", she begged,
He glanced at her, almost with a hint of pity,
Wordlessly, he walked away,
As she took her final breath, a sense of peace rolled over,
The friendly face of death invited her in,
She got her fairy tale afterall,
Alas, this Snow White was poisoned by her Prince Charming.

Appearance
While appearing as your typical black notebook, Shinigami are able to choose what adorns their notebooks' covers, if anything. Most notes, however, such as Rem's, are plain black and lack writing on their covers, but Shinigami occasionally write their name on it as a joke.
[1]Death Notes can also be red or white, though these types are rare.
Depending on the era, Death Notes change their appearance to match said era. They will be a scroll in Old Japan or appear similar to the Old Testament in medieval Europe.
[2] The inside of a Death Note looks like that of a school notebook and contains ruled white pages. The notebook is activated when a human's name is written in it. Regardless of how many names are written in it, the notebook will never run out of pages. Death Notes are made from a material unknown to human science; however, they nevertheless feel and look like regular notebooks, and it is possible to rip and burn the pages.
The purpose of the Death Note is to take human life, thereby increasing the lifespan of the Shinigami who uses it. There are many rules governing how the Death Note can be used, though the most pivotal rule is that "the human whose name is written in this note shall die." The King of Death is apparently the one that makes and controls the rules of the Death Note, where he is able to make new rules as he sees fit.
��Use by Shinigami
Shinigami normally use Death Notes to kill humans that they see through the observation hole in the Shinigami realm, thereby adding each human's remaining years of life to their own out of fear of dying themselves. Rogue Shinigami occasionally drop extra Death Notes from the Shinigami realm down to the human world, allowing a human the use of their spare killer notebooks. It is unknown how many notebooks exist in the Shinigami realm, as well as how Death Notes are created.
��Rules of Death Note
��The human whose name is written in this note shall die.
��This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.
��If the cause of death is written within the next 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen.
��If the cause of death is not specified, the person will simply die of a heart attack.
After writing the cause of death, details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.

Once upon a time...
An apple fell from a tree and felt weak.
They became enraged they grew into something so bleak!
Until one day they looked upon its leaves.
They were shriveled and mamed,
And the apple wondered: how'd it get that way?
The wind guided them to the roots,
There they saw what the tree had for food.
Nothing but skeletal scraps nourished the being,
Soon they connected all the internal screaming.
They were not at fault and neither were the tree.
Now the awoken apple had room to dream.
