I am a thorny Cactus,
Sometimes I appear delirious.
Standing up firmly to the test of time,
As tower of strength covered with grime.
Lonely along the vast dunes,
Seeking refuge from the wind tunes.
In the arduous journey of life,
I show the essence of inner beauty to survive.
With endurance and perseverance,
I thrive in the deserted ambience.
My colourful pretty flowers,
Sprinkle their warmth and motherly love showers.
The epitome of abstinence and chastity,
Preacher of life's sagacity.

People loathe to fall on me
People think that I am of no use.
It's funny because I am a source of water
A source of water to camels and humans as well.
I'm not lonely living in the desert,
The wind keeps me company.
My prickly personality can be terrifying,
But I have great value.
Humans just misunderstand me,
Just like they misunderstand people with prickly personalities.
We each have our purpose in this universe,
Just need to learn to be understanding.

One would think that my prickly demeanour
Would put off menacing predators
Heavens knows how they find me given my
Remote location thanks to my maker and creditor
I am grounded and firmly rooted
Strong are my heart and foundation
I resist heat, thirst and lack of varied company
And live to see several generations
My fellow compatriots- the hardworking camels
Often walk past me in awe and admiration
We are mates and can survive
In the harshest possible conditions
The days are lengthy and hot
I enjoy myself by basking in the sun
The nights are cold and make me shiver
While there is a serious lack of lighthearted fun
With no rains to pacify the parched earth
I grow wild and multiple slowly to form a colony
The arid land is no match for my ability
To repel outsiders and enjoy my own company
Passerby’s admire my fruit bearing stems
If I’m left alone by buzzards
By beetles, tortoises, squirrels and birds
While being protected by my friends- the lizards
My form has a lovely green sheen
I’m immune to being shunned and hate
I like to rise with the waking sun
And watch the desert moon till very late
Sometimes when the skies are clear
Starry nights afford me a magnificent view
Given where I live it is a rarity
Coming by anything shiny and new
If you ever come to visit me
Try greeting me from afar
Keep a distance from my thorny exterior
I wouldn’t want to leave you with a scar

Cactus - Life In Lines
It's harsh, it's dry, it's barren and deep
It's hot, it's lonely, it's midnights weep
I do have thorne, I am pruney, I look devil
I need to be so, to avoid my peril

Playful mirages confound
Lacks not a touch of ornate, it does
Plain modesty stirs the soul, it does
Frugal means to persist

Cactus
It is not fair to teach little tots
Cactus as the best example of a thorny plant
Never go near us and try to touch...
I have some stories to express the 'real us'
I admit I have prickling thorns,
But you can see some pink flowers
Which are our love for you
We try out to appear flowery with those tinies.
Green flesh with immense water is
What we procure for those dreadful
Weathers that could perish us
And you can also drink them!
Beware of some acids we store for our protection...
Our appearance itself seems
Easy to draw or make a still model
But our long hands and knees are
Results of fossil priorities so far.
We are so nice that we showcase our thorns!
Procure water in our spongy cushions
But you hide the sharp thorns inside
But use it when your friends and foes are down
So make children realize that you are the apt example
Of thorny kinds making people suffer from
Unexpected pains and chaos.
I have heard many stories of human
Betrayal, depression, fights, love, Breakups.
Try to express the thorns instantly so that you can avoid playing roles in the live game.
Grow your Children into beautiful flowers and even a cactus that instantly expose their thorns.

Pretending to be strong when you're not is not always good (habitual usage of a defense mechanism is unhealthy), there is a tendency that you would be physically and emotionally burnt out. I've been through rough past too (narcissistic) and it was the Lord Christ Jesus who purely help me changed. This I am sharing because it's true. Without partiality nor hypocrisy. Recently I've been a trend
Bought and tended with care.
I know I am quite prickly outside
Makes me wonder
why people still like me.
I am everywhere
Inside and outside your home
Still I am alone.
Without peers, I stand firm
My thirst quenched
Along with my hard thick skin.
Inflict wounds in me,
I'll shed my pure white tears to you.
Truth, only few believe
Everyday I am crying inside.
Deep down I am weak,
A tale never been exposed.
My thorns are not made to hurt you
They are to protect you away
From my rotting self.
