Checkmate
It’s a chess game
and I’ve been checked;
The King, due to be hanged
for his glorified impudence.
Mightier than a looming boulder
prepped to race down
the mountainside and crash
headlong into his
despondent village.
Perhaps we opt to behead,
instead cutting the
head from The Snake,
diving into despair
as the Kingdom rears
it’s ugly and duplicitous head.
The crowds wail and cheer
as the crows feast on
the disease of flesh, humanity.
The game has been won,
Checkmate; Though now
I must reset the board
and let history repeat itself.

The Pawn
I am only a pawn in this game, my kingdom has fallen now only pieces of memories remain. However the memories aren't mine, I was never the king put here by a contract in which I'll abide, this was never my choice but now there is no place left to hide.
Maybe one day when I see you again I will remember who I am, and I know with you comes my death. By the end of the day I can call checkmate with proper means to an end, this game is over and I have fallen the throne below me is now crumbled and rotten.
