I imagine tracing every line of your hands
With my "never did a hard day's work in my life" own.
Running my soft made-for-page-turning, paper-pure tiny fingers
When I lay here at night alone.
Much like nature, in twisting branches, sprawling root systems and fallen boughs
Hands possess features of weathering and of damage, patches scarred or rough.
Yet all formed through the fortune and wonder of being alive,
Marks of courage, and healing, experiences, the times we showed weakness, yet also times we were tough.
I wish I could explore each iteration in yours,
And be the one who hears every story that goes along with how you acquired each.
Instead I'm a lone almost blossom, a bud on the edge of my beloved Winter,
Certain the Springtime won't see me become any "ripe for the picking" sweet peach...

अनजान लड़की
खुद से बातें करती थी,
कभी लड़ती कभी झगरती थी।
मस्त मगन रहने वाली,
वो सबकी फिक्र करती थी।
दौलत का नहीं था घमंड उसे,
इंसानियत को पसंद करती थी।
कोई हस्कार बात करले,
तो वो पगली उसपे जान निछावर करती थी।
चाहती थी कुछ अच्छा करना,
समाज की बुराईयों से लड़ना।
साथ उसने अपनों का मांगा,
तो सबने हाथ पीछे हटाया।
निराश होने का वक़्त ना था,
दोस्तों के सोच पे उसका कोई हक नहीं था।
अकेले रह पे चल पड़ी वो,
तप के निखार गई वो,
रास्ते पथरीले थे,
लेकिन हौसले ढीले नहीं थे।
बचाया उसने एक मासूम की जान,
अपनाया उसे देकर अपना नाम।
ममता ने दिया उसे एक अलग पेह चान,
खुद का घर बनाया उसने अपनाकर उनको जिनके नहीं थे कोई मां बाप।।

She woke up in the morning
Electricity coursing through her veins
This was it
Today was the day
The day she was waiting for
The day she dreamt for
The day she planned to go for a trek!
She knew her contact with nature was broken
She knew she needed to re-establish contact with Her
So she went
She went to trek
The whole day she spent by communicating with Mother nature
Soon the day fell and night came
She was soo engulfed in nature she didn't notice
She then realised she's screwed
O hell with nature went through her mind
A sparkle of fire was heard suddenly
She walked towards it
A boy with curly hair and a toothy grin looked at her
"Hi! I am Collin" he said
"Hi! I am Gabi" she introduced herself
She sat by the campfire Collin lit
He told her about the wonders of his life,his story
She listened carefully without missing a word
She stared in the sky and saw white fluffy clouds like delicious cheesecake and stars which sparkled like sugar
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath
Her adventure was better than any show.
