Will you go on a date with me?
"Will you go on a date with me this weekend?", he asked her amidst the phone call.
It came as a bolt from the blue for her.
She was a bit flabbergasted. She has always liked him and in fact was waiting for him to ask her out someday.
But she didn't wanna say a 'yes' outrightly. So she instead replied him asking,
"What is your idea of a date?"
He was searching for words and answers. His heart was pounding harder than ever.
After making up some sentences in his mind, he replied her saying,
"Well, an evening walk in the park to start with, folllowed by a dinner in a quiet restaurant."
He stopped with that.
She was upset, cause she was expecting something different from him, something that has his own flavour in it, but all she got as an answer was the universal date formula. So, she just gave him a plain "Ohhh. Okay."
He sensed the void in her reply and hence continued,
"And, after the dinner I will take you to my place, and then let's just both sit on my bed and..... "
* a long beep *****
The phone lost its signal thereby ending the call abruptly.
"Hello? Can you hear me?," he was shouting in vain.
"Fuckkkkkkk!" he yelled, while trying to call her back. He couldn't place a call. So he was trying again.
Meanwhile, she in her room was on the verge of breaking down because she thought of him as a nice guy but now she realized that he was just the same. He was like those guys who had been waiting for their chances to get to sleep with girls.
"Shame on him, he's just lusting after me" she said to herself.
While she was imagining all these, her phone rang again. It was him. She thought not to attend his call. With every passing second of her not answering the call, his anxiety was slowly engulfing him. Atlast on the last ring, she picked up the phone.
"Hello!" he said.
There was no reply from her side.
"Sorry! the network connection is bad here" he said.
"Tell me what you wanna say?, she replied showing anger in her tone and voice.
He shrugged for a bit, but then pulled himself together and continued with a shattering voice,
"So, as I was saying, I will take you to my bed and I'll sit next to you and will play the 'The Interstellar' movie for you on my laptop".
She was baffled.
"Yeah I know you like interstellar movie very much and I do too. So we'll just watch the movie and then talk and discuss about it until we get sleep. So that's my idea of a perfect date", he finished.
On the other side of the call, she was laughing out so hard hearing him say that.
"Why are you laughing? Is it so naive?, he asked.
"No! Not at all!", she said.
"So what's your answer? Is it a yes ??," he was anxiously waiting for an answer .
"I'll tell you later", she said and hung up the phone.
That weekend
3 AM in the morning
at his place,
She was lying on his lap with her sweat pants and T- shirt on and was listening to him explaining about the 5th dimension, which he recently got the knowledge about from an YouTube video. More than two hours has passed since the movie "The Interstellar" had ended.
"Forrest Gump!", she said suddenly interrupting him.
"Whatttt? ", said his confused face.
"Next weekend - 'Forrest Gump' - at my place",
she said smiling.
And that's how the two moviebuffs started their relationship..
