Filled with hope that I'll one day see you again
Every tear drop bathes my soul with thoughts that drain
Allowing the geyser of pain release of the pressure
Simmering down creating a calming refresher
Containing all extremities of emotion
My heart loves as deep and as wide as the ocean
Without you here I just feel lost
Staring at the blank canvas of an artist
All the world looks black and white
Lacking of any brilliance in color at first sight
Traveling beneath now, I turn inwards to hibernate
Returning when these sad feelings dissipate

Being fearless

Swimming through the seas of loneliness and despair
Choices made in fear serve no purpose and lack care
Floating amongst the sorrow and pain
Instead of succumbing to the drain
Choosing to see what's to be gained
Depth of emotions molds the courageous to find wisdom
Shifting perspectives to discover what inner strength is
It all plays a role in uncovering my truth
As I allow the flow to trickle through
Seeing clearly into myself and straight through to you

Grief

Sitting in a multitude of musings
Everything feels so confusing
Alone I sit and curse the sky
Why God do I have to feel this way and cry
Bartering anything I have to take away the pain
Nothing works, loss is a cruel energy drain
Wallowing through self pity and swimming in fear
Vacillating between anger and deep sorrow
Begging to have just one more tomorrow
Mysterious as this cycle is
God's plan unfolds divinely and promises to give
A rest to my poor weary head
Good night dear ones, it's off to bed
The sun will shine again one day
Parting the clouds and sharpening my resilient heart
For now I accept the waves of emotion that play their part

A world of words

Shouting, begging and pleading to be heard
So many words used callously has become absurd
Mindless chatter destroying one's worth
All symbolic meaning lost in translation and interpretation
Lashing out and competing for attention creates distraction
True meaning is all but swallowed into darkening abyss
One's own intentions are cast away and dismissed
Turning our whole world upside-down
Compassion and empathy is what needs to be passed around
Turning the tides and righting the seas
Of all the illusion of "you" vs "me"
A time for healing and a return to decency
We've become so imbalanced, normalized complicancy
Love's the one word that has been forgotten
An untapped superpower to disspell whatever's turned rotten
Thoughtfulness and mindfulness restored upon the nations
Upholding God's plans for all of creation
Love each other as the one beating heart we are
Words can get in the way of this and keep us apart, gone too far
Careful responsiveness can do the trick
Remembering a world before consumption of politics

Looked upon as a savior
Held in high esteem and favor
Searched for all over this vast land
Who could hold this title so grand
Rubbing my eyes and awakening to see
The hero of my story is me
Feeling intuitively just where I'm supposed to be
Living heart centered while my soul becomes free
The person I've been seeking all my life
Endured such evil and survived painful strife
Overcoming obstacles using all of my insight
Never once quitting or giving up slightly
Powering through until I arose quite safely
Finally accepting my greatest reward
Hope, faith and trust has been fully restored

Pressure builds as an escape plan crafts
A quicker way out to avoid the drafts
Big holes gaping wide engulf my heart
Threatening to take me back to the start
Inner voice gets louder, soul steps forward
Putting an end to the turmoil and torture

Retrograde

Disrupted flow pulling me backwards
Confronting situations, hard to find exact words
One minute's contentment leads to confusion
Riding high on emotion seems a steady illusion
For what is reality at any given time
Experiences mixed together don't add up sometimes
Exhausted and frustrated looking for a way out
Knowing the only way is through for there is no doubt
Aligning with the truth, a tremendous uphill battle
Patience will see me through, putting me back in the saddle
For now I must hang on, ride this out and stay the course
Nothing good will result from any sort of force
In the end, actively loving myself is the only answer
