Pushkar fair- when the village gathered at the bank of the river.
Today I'll talk about 'Pushkar medava'. This fair comes after every 12 years, held on 12th April (this year), and for 12 days. The reason behind the alliteration of twelve is because, there are 12 Shivlings all over the India and this fair is celebrated in the grace of Lord Shiva.
In this fair usually people do bath in the river to cleanse their inner soul. They believe, Pushkar which usually comes after 12 years, energise the river water and after bathing in it we experience a positive mind and soul. People who knows about it, comes from various places of India. This time Pushkar fair is held in Sironcha, Maharashtra and on this auspicious moment people from different states like MP, AP, Telangana, Gujarat, Rajasthan are visiting here. Government spent 10 crores for the arrangements. Securities like polices, homeguards, rescuers, firefighters, and other guiders were posted here on high alert. Bramhins, gurujis, Aghoris were all over reading mantras. Ministers, Chief minister, MPs, MLAs, journalists were also visiting constantly. This everything marked the importance of this fair.
Today is the 12th day means the last day of Pushkar medava. As every evening does this evening also the whole village was gathered at the bank of the river to join 'ganga aarti' (worship of the river) at 6:00 pm. As the day ended with this beautiful evening, everyone started leaving for their homes with some joy and a bottle of river water.
Thus, the fair ended and hope it's energy would live in our soul for the next 12 years to come.
