Munna Bhai not M.B.B.S
He's a jolly good fellow
Who sleeps with half closed eyes
His many qualities to elaborate
L'il onerous for me to summarise
So far my memory can engage
Forever, since his pre teen age
Be it to help or to join for fun
When it's about his dear ones
What I've seen and of situations I haven't misread
He always acts by his heart and not by his head
He's never been a bookworm or any studious
He's mentally alert and always been industrious
A quality that maa knew of him but desired more
To study well, become a doctor and settle offshore
It's wasn't that he was dull in studies or incompetent
But, his report card would cause maa disappointment
Maa - Writing for exams for me is a very boring task
Instead of written answers, why don't they orally ask ?
Said she one day - I thought, to you the fulfillment of my dream I would someday solicit
To take me to London, for the queen's palace is one place, in my lifetime I wish to visit.
Her disappointment never dampened his spirits
He remembered her dream for what's worth it
As a schoolboy, occassionally he would ask her for a penny or two;
For samosas, movies or any petty indulgence
Sometimes she would give, sometimes she would refuse -
"You trouble me a lot, I won't spare you any pittance".
"You break my heart for 2 pennies, ah!
"Why hold on to petty pennies maa ?
To get those pennies he would then play his master stroke -
Maa, today, pennies I may have none
But, one day, I'll take you to London. My dear maa ! Just trust this bloke."
Everytime, all his herculean efforts for a penny or two, and witty humour was worthwhile
Sometimes they loosened her purse strings, but everytime his words made her smile.
He was a surprise addition in the business for his dad
A spirited son, whose ideas and inputs made him glad
Together they could have done so much more
But, recession and destiny played a spoil-sport
Though, in material luxury he may not swim
But, his dad's soul is surely proud of him
So much can be said of him
Some awesome, some funny
Very human in his fault
A person worth his salt
Quick to anger when hurt
His personality-extrovert
A good son, quite a worth
One who matters on earth
He's a jolly good fellow
Who sleeps with half closed eyes
His many qualities to elaborate
L'il onerous for me to summarise
I speak here not of any random guy
This person I know is my munna bhai
I'm neither the best sister to that end
Nor am I a poetess renowned and great
But, just before the year 2021 is spent
For my brother, a few lines I wish to dedicate.

Fun facts - His big eyes really don't close fully when he sleeps. I was always amused by it. And, he had this weird habit of chewing his cheeks from inside. I used to tell him - Band karo gaal chabana nahi to ek din gaalon mein ched ho jayenge.
