When I first noticed the twigs and wood shavings stuck between a high window pane and the metal grille in front of it in our enclosed back veranda, I thought they had landed there after the recent storm, like the dried leaves lodged in the grille just below the asbestos roof.
But in a few days my family began to observe that the pile was growing bigger, until one day it took a shape like that of a nest. All this hardly took ten days, and before we knew it, there was a bird sitting in the cozy little space, which my parents confirmed was a bulbul.
