I packed my bags overwhelmed with delayed leave
Rushed to the train that would take me to my relief
I came home and hugged everyone
As I was back after being long gone
I enjoyed my time with you
And time seemed nothing with you
This time passed too soon
And now I have to say you goodbye soon..

Sunday was the most wanted day in the calendar,
The whole family could be together.
But the change in the work culture,
Has made us work round the week and round the clock whatsoever.
The joy of being together has lost its flavour,
Everyone is busy with his/her own endeavour.
Even the days have same twenty four hours, there is no leisure,
Every minute, we are under pressure.
The target, the market, the customer, the competitor,
Or at least how to conceal the pain and wear a mask of pleasure.
Why do we sacrifice so much in youth, to suffer later?
Let us call Sunday, a complete holiday to relax and restore.

वक्त का काम हे गुजरना
अभी याद आया, आज sunday था ,खतम भी हो गया

इतवार
सच में ये इतवार, कुछ खास नही हैं
इसमें अब उमंगों की मिठास नहीं है..!!
गुज़रते थे सारे दिन बदहवासी में
ज़रा सी गुफ़्तगू बस इतवार करता था
जैसे तैसे कटते थे हफ़्ते के छः दिन
दिल बस सातवें का इंतज़ार करता था
अब क्या सातवां, क्या आठवां..
अब ना गेंदे नालियों में जाती है
ना बल्लों के हत्थे टूट रहे हैं
कटी पतंगो के झगड़े भी अब नहीं होते
बस मैदानों में आकड़ो के अंकुर फूट रहे हैं
वो इतवार वाला बचपन अब सो चूका है
उस एक छुट्टी का उत्साह भी कहीं खो चूका है..
अब और यूं ही बैठे रहने की आस नहीं है
सच में ये इतवार, कुछ खास नहीं है
इसमें अब उमंगो की मिठास नहीं है..!!
