Day before yesterday
i was randomly scrolling
through Ramadan lectures
and i was already feeling
low as i wasn't prepared
for Ramadan and deep
inside my heart i was
contemplating my relationship
with Almighty Allah as i felt
my imam was low due to personal
and as much external reasons
of society.
As i was scrolling i came
across a lecture by Dr. Yasir
Qadhi
"What if I'm not motivated
for Ramadan" ?
As if Almighty Allah heard
my dua as seriously i wasn't
enough motivated knowing
from past two years i was
caged in lockdown due to
pandemic.
I went through lecture
and saw this as vital sign
how Almighty Allah guide
us when we sincerely ask
for way out...
This reminds me of
Qur'an verse
وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّا فَهَدَىٰ
Translation
Did He not find you unguided then guided you ?
Surah : Ad-Duhaa 93:7
Ad- Duhaa is the ninety-third chapter of the Qur'an, with 11 āyat or verses.
I was awestruck by the mercy of Almighty Allah
on my fragile soul and i feel ashamed of my
unthankful nature towards his blessings.
That's said i guess this isn't me alone
who'd felt not enough motivated for Ramadan
as each one of us are struggling differently.
As recent pandemic left most of us
in distress and it was more of a traumatic
phase which you and i have gone through.
Some lost their parents , few lost their
relatives and each one of us lost sometimes
which no one can compensate. Allah knows
best.
Saying this Ramadan isn't about who will
finishes reading maximum Qur'an , who
will be racing for the charity , who'll be
performing nafil and who'll be standing
whole night doing ''Qiyam-ul-layl ".
Almighty Allah cleary stated in Surah Al - Baqarah
Translation
Ramaḍan is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the standard to distinguish between right and wrong. So whoever is present this month, let them fast. But whoever is ill or on a journey, then ˹let them fast˺ an equal number of days after Ramaḍan . Allah intends ease for you, not hardship, so that you may complete the prescribed period and proclaim the greatness of Allah for guiding you, and perhaps you will be grateful.
Surah Al- Baqarah Chapter 2 Verse Number 185
Ramadan isn't a sprint rather marathon so try to
push yourself to finish line without competing with
others but yourself.
If you can't read Arabic try to read Qur'an in
your mother tongue , and those who knows
Arabic try to understand the translation.
No matter what at least try to understand
the message what Almighty Allah is trying
to say , reason it , pounder and try to live up
to the knowledge blessed by Almighty Allah.
Knowing pandemic was traumatic but
this shouldn't be our excuse to distance
ourselves from this holy month.
Knowing someone's is dead shouldn't
stop us from distancing ourselves from
ALMIGHTY ALLAH.
Knowing something didn't go according
to plan shouldn't be our reason to
be disheartened
Knowing someone left us shouldn't
stop us from praying , when you and
i are well aware prayer is an link with
Almighty Allah which connects our
souls.
I know I can't cover everything in this
write up but my only concern is that
Almighty Allah loves you despite your
sins , you might be disobedient child ,
you might have done alot of haram ,
you might be adulterous , you might
involved in alcohol, you might involved
in riba ( interest) , you might have
cheated and you might be backbiting.
My motive isn't to advocate you
sinning rather to call you for
repentance .
When Almighty Allah happens
to me most merciful then tell
me who I am to judge knowing
I'm just other sinner.
Let's race up for this Ramadan.
Let's strive for hereafter.
Let's give up on sinning.
Let's embrace Qur'an to understand
the message of Almighty Allah.
You and i are capable of everything
Just making through this Ramadan
finish line is enough rather than
giving up simply without even trying.
Five things what we're capable of
1. Salah fives times a day note you can stretch your limit by doing nafil.
2 . Reading Qur'an a page or two with translation.
3. Not skipping fasting i.e unless you have periods or fallen sick or travelling ( make up this fast after Ramadan).
4 . Engaging in Charity i.e ( who are capable of giving zakat and you can also give a date if you can't afford remember charity is intention of one's heart).
5. Attending taraweeh prayers if you can't make it 20 rakat , make it 8 rakat knowing this is sunnah of our Prophet ( something is better than nothing). And last but not the least worshipping in the nights of
Laylatul Qadr if you can't make it for last ten days
try to pray on 21 , 23 , 25 , 27 and 29.
I hope you find this useful and Almighty Allah
make this Ramadan a peace affair.
Ameen Ya Rab Ameen...
Remember our one Ummah in your prayers....
