It should accept that which is the TRUTH.
حق
And not be driven by desires.
So how do you distinguish?
If what it desires is the truth and beneficial for you in this world and the Hereafter then go for it!
If what it desires is something forbidden and it gives you worldly pleasures and ruins your Hereafter then stop following it!
For every sin you'll feel sad, regret and remorseful
For every good deed you'll feel pleased, happy and satisfied.
Use your instincts as a guide.
Simple as that!

It increases and decreases. Allah سبحانه وتعالى says, {So that they can increase in Iman on top of their (current) Iman} [Al-Fath:4], {And we increased them in guidance} [Al-Kahf:13]
Iman comprises of :
-Belief in the heart
-Statement of the tongue
-Actions of the limbs
All these three above connect with each other.
We believe in our hearts, we say with our tongues but do we apply it in our actions ?
When our spiritual tank is low, it reflects in our actions. When our spiritual tank is high, it reflects on our actions.
Knowing your learning style whether you are a visual learner or auditory or verbal or physical or logical or social or solitary or a combination of more than two helps you when your spiritual tank is low.
Identify your learning style and use it when your spiritual level is going low.
It's a weapon! It's a shield!
Use it wisely!

Read MoreMostly, we remember Allah during the beginning of something as we are inclined towards it, we are eager to have it or we fear not making it. But, after we've achieved our success or fulfilled our needs. We tend to forget the art of appreciation towards Allah.
Appreciation can be through spoken words or actions done.
We can see this happening mostly in the following scenarios in our lives during:
•Fear/Trials like exams period, calamity, sudden fall economical etc.
•Mental : Anxiety, stress, overthininking, abrupt change of moods/behaviour etc.
•Needs like hunger, shelter, health etc.
We all run back to Allah. However, after that need, fear, mental distress has been uplifted upon us, we forget to thank the one who uplifted it for us.
This is the reason why Allah tells us:
An-Naml 27:40
قَالَ هَٰذَا مِن فَضْلِ رَبِّى لِيَبْلُوَنِىٓ ءَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُۖ وَمَن شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِۦۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّى غَنِىٌّ كَرِيمٌ
He said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful – his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful – then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."
Just like how you remembered to say "Bismillah" before eating, remind yourself to say "Alhamdulillah" after it. Do not let needs drive you.
Just like how you say the dua before sleeping because you fear you may never wake up again, then make the same mental reminder to thank Allah for another beautiful day to be alive. Do not let fear drive you.
Just like how you always ask for ease in your financial difficulties then remind yourself to always bow down to prostration to the one who removed that difficulty. Do not let mental stress and money drive you.
Link your successes to Allah and watch how Allah gives you more.
Ibrahim 14:7
وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِى لَشَدِيدٌ
And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'"

Also Allah tells us about keeping the time in Salaah, when He says:
An-Nisa' 4:103
فَإِذَا قَضَيْتُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِكُمْۚ فَإِذَا ٱطْمَأْنَنتُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَٰبًا مَّوْقُوتًا
And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah standing, sitting, or [lying] on your sides. But when you become secure, re-establish [regular] prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.
There's no excuse for not praying at all.
If you can't stand then sit and if you can't sit then lie down and if you can't move your body then pray with showing ishaara ( directions) using your eyes.
If you can't pray because you have no water then use dust/soil to perform dry ablution ( Tayammum)
As you can notice, there's NO excuse for missing the daily obligatory prayers upon us.
This stresses how much Allah wants us all to be successful in life because Salah is linked with Success. You cannot find peace of mind without Salaah. You cannot be successful financially, physically, healthwise etc. Without Salaah.
It's the foundation that holds the success staircase.
Build that foundation and see how easier you run on the stairs with joy and happiness.

Ramadan Series 30
Here is goodbye to Ramadan and Alhamdulillah to Eid.
The Prophet(s) said: "Angels on the day of Eid stand at the alleys and paths and say, "rush to the Generous Lord who gives great blessings and forgives great sins".
In some Eids, Imam Ali (r.a) said, "This is Eid of the one, God has accepted his fasting and worships, and everyday in which God is not disobeyed is Eid".
Also, as narrated/authority of Anas Ibn Malik, Allah's Apostle never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of Eid-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates.
And also narrated: The Prophet used to eat odd number of dates.
Do not forget the two recommended nafilah before Eid and obligated sending of blessing and gratitude to Allah SWT. Wearing nice clothes, smelling nice, exchanging greetings, visiting friends and family, and smiling beautifully.
May we meet the next Ramadan in good faith and health. Aameen.

Ramadan Series 29
Zakat occupies the third position of the fundamentals of Islam, the first being kalimatul shahada and the second which is prayer (salat). The word is derived from Zakd, which means it (a plant) grew. It also carries the sense of purification. And in the Qur'an and hadith, the word used for zakat is sadaqah which is derived from sidq (the truth).
The Prophet (on him be peace), specifically called the Ramadan Fast-Breaking Alms "Zakat" and the Qur'an says: And duly establish the Salah-Prayer and give the Zakat-Charity, (Suratul-Baqarah 2:110 and Suratul-Nisa' 4:77).
Ibn Umar narrated that: Allah's Apostle enjoined the payment if one Sa'i of dates or one Sa'i of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the Eid prayer, (Sahih Bukhari).
Zakat-ul-Fitr is to the month of Ramadan like the prostration of forgetfulness is to prayer. It makes up for the deficiencies in fasting just as the prostration makes up for deficiencies in prayer (as reported by An-Nawawi, said by Waki' ibn al-Jarrah).
Do not forget to pay your Zakat.

Ramadan Series 28
Ramadan is about to leave, and none of us know if this will be out last or if we still have some more to witness.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days from Shawwal, it is as if they fasted the entire year", (Muslim).
In another hadith, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan and then six days after Eid, it is an entire year. Whoever does a good deed shall have ten times its reward", (Ibn Majah).
So here is to one who wants to quench the burning flame of the thirst of reward. You can satiate it by sprinkling it with six days from Shawwal. But do not forget to repay your missed fasts.
May Allah SWT make it easy for us all. Aameen.

What plans do you have after Ramadan? What goodness do you seek to keep striving for after Ramadan is gone? Most of us put a halt to all the good we learnt and all the ibadah we exhibited. Do not be good just because it is, and it was Ramadan. Nurtue your faith especially after Ramadan. Remember, in Ramadan, the gates of Heaven is opened, and that of Hell closed, the devil is chained and the reward of each of our good deed is multiplied.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The most excellent month after Ramadan is God's month, "Al-Muharram" and the most excellent prayer after what is prescribed is prayer during the night", (Sahih Muslim).
Know that, it is sunnah of the Prophet (SAW) to fast in every of the month, but fasts a complete month only in that of Ramadan. The reward of each fast is only known to Allah SWT because it is His.
Do not leave your luggage behind to fade away with Ramadan. Carry it deep in your heart, filled with goodness.
May Allah Azzawajallah make it easy for us. Aameen.

Ramadan Series 26
Islam encourages us and makes it an obligation on us to uphold the ties of kinship. It is a duty on everyone of us as Allah SWT said in the following surahs:
1) "And those who break the Covenant of Allah, after its ratification, and sever that which Allah has commanded to be joined (that is, they sever the bond of kinship and are not good to their relatives), and work mischief in the land, on them is the curse (that is, they will be far away from Allah's Mercy); And for them is the unhappy (evil) home (that is, hell), (Ar-Ra'd 13:25).
2) "........and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship).........", (An-Nisa'4:1).
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Whoever would like his rizq (provision) to be increased and his life to be extended, should uphold the ties of kinship", (Bukhari and Muslim).
This is a very good month and time for us to rekindle and ignite the light in our kinship. May Allah SWT guide us. Aameen.

To the last Friday of Ramadan.
Abu Hurairah reported that: The Prophet (peace be upon him) ascended the pulpit and said, "Ameen, Ameen, Ameen". It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, you ascended the pulpit and said Ameen, Ameen, Ameen". The Prophet said; "Verily, Gabriel(Jibril) came to me and he said: 'Whoever reaches the month of Ramadan and he is not forgiven, then he will enter Hellfire and Allah will cast him far away, so say Ameen. I said Ameen; Whoever sees their parents in their old age, one or both of them, and he does not honour them and he dies, then he will enter Hellfire and Allah will cast him far away, so say Ameen. I said Ameen; Whoever heard your name mentioned in his presence and he does not send blessings upon you and he dies, then he will enter Hellfire and Allah will cast him far away, so say Ameen. I said Ameen'.
In few more breaths, Ramadan will be all gone. What have you done or achieved? What has changed in you? What is that thing you will want to show your Rabb if given an opportunity?
You and I still have time to make us of the Month before it is gone.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "No Muslim servant supplicates for his brother behind his back but that the Angel says: And for you the same", (Sahih Muslim).
Taking a look at this hadith, it is very important to pray for others apart from ourselves. Who would want to lose the goodness behind this hadith? We should endeavor to always pray for the Ummah, the world in general, our loved ones, our friends and family, our neighbors and acquaintances, even those whom we have wronged; so as to gain Allah's Mercy and Forgiveness.
As the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Whoever seeks forgiveness for the believing men or women, Allah will record a good deed for him by each man and woman", (Tabarani). Allah knows best.
Let us a stop being selfish with our du'a's. May Allah SWT give us the ability to. Aameen

Ramadan Series 23
Seclusion (ittikaf) can be defined as "Solitude", "Isolation". It is a state of being private and away from other people or a place that facilitates it. It refers to withdrawing oneself from dunya, the manifest world of form, typically for a period of intense meditation and reflection.
The Prophet (SAW) used to observe ittikaf every year (during Ramadan) for ten days; in the year in which he passed away, he observed ittikaf for twenty days, (Bukhari).
It is an obligation on one during ittikaf to be fully immersed in reading the Qur'an; supplicating and sending blessings; putting his heart, trust and focus in Allah SWT; and think about death and its afterwards.
Seclusion (ittikaf) allows one to become more closer to the Almighty Allah and depend on Him with every of his affairs. Seclusion is both for the males and females, it also has governing rules. A person can seclude for hours or days depending on his intention.
May Allah SWT see us through. Aameen.

Before you envy that person in your mind and heart, remember that, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
1) "Envy is justified in regard to two types of persons only; A man whom Allah has given knowledge of the Qur'an, and so he recites it firing the night and during the day; And a man whom Allah has given wealth, and so he spends from it (charity) during the night and during the day", (Muttafaqun Alaihi).
2) "Beware of envy for it devours good deeds just as fire devours wood or grass", (Abu Dawood).
And it was said to the Messenger of Allah (SAW): "Which of the people is best?" He said: "Everyone who is pure of heart and sincere in speech". They said: "Sincere in speech, we know what this is, but what is pure of heart?" He said: "It is (the heart) that is pious and pure, with no sin, injustice, rancor or envy in it", (Sunan Ibn Majah).
May Allah SWT protect our hearts and free our minds. Aameen.

1) Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul area fa'fu'anne
2) Allahumma inni a'udhubika min al-hammi wal huzani, wal 'ajzi wal kasali, wal bukhli wal jubni, wa daka 'ad-dayni wa ghalabatirrijal
3) Allahumma inni as aluka husnal khatimah
4) Allahumma inni as-asluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizwan tayyiban, wa 'amalan matqaballa
5) Allahumma a'inni a'ladhikrika, washukrika, wahusni 'ibadik
6) Allahumma inni as-asluka aljannata wa a'udhubika minannar
7) Allahumma arzuqni taubatab nasuha qablal maut
8) Allahumma ya muqallib al quloob, than it qalbee 'alaa deenik
9) Rabbi j'alnee muqeem assalati wa min dhurriyyati
10) Rabbana ighfir li wa li walidayya wa lil mumineena yawma yaqoomulhisab
11) Rabbana aatina fiddunya hassanah, wa fil akhirati hassanah, waqina 'adhabannar
12) Rabbana wa taqabbal du'a.

Who wants Jannah with extra ease? Who seeks for his or her du'a's to be ultimately answered? Who craves for Allah's Mercy, Love and Forgiveness?
Well listen to what Allah SWT said in Suratul-Qadr:
1) Verily, we have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (decree).
2) And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (decree) is?
3) The NIGHT OF AL-QADR (DECREE) IS BETTER THAN A THOUSAND MONTHS (that is, worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, that is, 83 years and 4 months).
4) Therein DESCEND THE ANGELS AND THE RUUH [JIBRIL(GABRIEL)] BY ALLAH'S PERMISSION WITH ALL DECREES.
5) (ALL THAT NIGHT), There is PEACE (AND GOODNESS FROM ALLAH TO HIS BELIEVING SLAVES) until the appearance of DAWN.
Allah's Messenger (SAW) said:
"Search for the Night of QADR in the ODD NIGHTS of the LAST TEN DAYS OF RAMADAN; 21, 23, 25 27 and 29, (Sahih Bukhari). May Azzawajallah make it easy for us all. Aameen.

Why do we tend to make our affairs when the reality of life is really simple? Telling lies has become a part of our daily bread. We ignoring the fact that it is a sin, this can be testified in some verses of the Holy Qur'an.
1) And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know, (Al-Baqarah:42).
2) "Among them is a group who distort the Book with their tongues so that you think it is from the Book. They say, "it is from Allah", but it is not from Allah. They tell a lie against Allah and they know it".
As can also be seen in the following hadiths:
1) When a person tells a lie, the bad smell that comes out of the lie keeps the Angels one mile away, (Tirmidhi).
2) Beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness and wickedness leads to Hell, (Bukhari and Muslim).
3) It is great treachery that you should tell your brother something and have him believe you when you are lying, (Sunan Ibn Abu Dawood).

In life, we often make it hard on ourselves in deciding to choose between Jannah (Paradise) and Jahannam (Hellfire), that is between the pleasure and displeasure of Allah SWT. Whatever we do in this life has consequences of either loss or benefit, and we all will be accountable to.
Allah SWT said:
1) "O Lord.......let not our hearts deviate now after You have guided us, but grant us mercy from You, for You are the Giver of bounties without measure, (Al-Imran 3:8).
2) Jannah is surrounded with hardships. Allah SWT calls it a steep ascent, (Al-Balad 90:11-12).
The Prophet SAW said:
1) Jannah is surrounded by hardships and the Hellfire is surrounded by temptations, (Sahih Muslim).
2) The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the unbeliever, (Sahih Muslim).
We should always remember to seek Jannah. May Allah make it easy for us all. Aameen.

Modesty in whatever a person does is advised, especially in attitude and behavior. Shyness and decency are all part of modesty. Allah SWT said: "The servants if the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say words of peace", (suratul Furqan 25:63).
The Prophet SAW said:
1) Faith (belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e parts). And Haya is a part of faith, (Sahih Bukhari).
2) Modesty dies not bring anything except goodness, (Sahih Muslim).
3) No one who has the weight of a seed of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise, (Sahih Muslim).
4) Verily, Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty. Arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on people, (Sahih Muslim).
5) The believer does not insult others, does not curse others, is not vulgar, and is not shameless.
May Allah SWT guide us, Aameen.
