Why do people call us terrorist?
    As we don't have humanity,
    Love and faith are yet alive ;
We fight for only our dignity.

    കൊറോണക്കാക്ക

    മതവും ജാതിയുമറിയാത്ത
    കൊറോണക്ക്
    മതപരിവേഷം നൽകുന്ന
    ആ മനസ്സുണ്ടല്ലോ
    അതാണ്

    Perseverance

    Salaam Alaykum,

    Peace be upon You.

I am Nabila Jaffer a second generation Muslim Canadaian, with ancestors from India and Tanazania. I would like to acknowledge that I am sharing my poem on the unceded land of the coast Salish, Musqueam, skohomosh, Kwantlen, and Tsleil Wat tuth Nations.

    This poem is called Perseverance:

    We are horrified, devestated. Saddened.
Yet not surprised. Confused? not at all.

    6. 11 . 50. 1000’s & 1,000’s

Quebec, the Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Christchurch, and all around the world

have lost their lives in sacred spaces

    Racism, Facism
    This rhetoric it's still alive.
    Human Dignity, basically denied.
    Everywhere we go, it's propogated.

    And it is not okay.

    From this we will realize
We need to sit with the truth
Endure our discomfort and change it into resilience

We will not internalize this hate
    United we stand
    In this solidarity we confide.

    Together
    As Humans
We will speak out against ignorance

    As people of faith
We will never close our sacred spaces
Safety and Security will be more like building Community
We will create dialogue, communicate and discuss our vulnerablites.
On the merits of human connection and human relation.

Inherintly we are all the same
Our 's bleed the same colour.

From this we we will learn

    We will speak out

Become Activists and change our fate

And it's okay to feel uncomfortable in this time of discomfort

    Let's not internalize this Hate

    With Patience and Perseverance
    We are fearless
    With God on our side
We will forever stand United with Humanity.

    The Muslims of Christchurch

Gunned down for bowing their heads
    Before the Almighty above
They think they are cleansing their lands
They ain't know Islam lies in hearts
What did the innocent souls did to you?
How did the place of worship store that hatred in you?
They were disconnected from the world
During the sermon, indulged in the words
And you came on a shooting spree
Sent them to Lord, set your land "disease-free"
The world is quiet, no human has died
The dead were Jihadists, 'terrorists' in disguise!

    Unapologetically Muslim

    Bismillahirahmanirrahim

I begin, in the name of god, the compassionate (to everyone) and Merciful (to each believer)

    Asalam-O-Alykum!

    Peace be upon you

I can stand here today and share a hullabaloo of words that describe me, I can speak to how

    I am a Muslim Woman

    I am strong

    and I am free

    Well….

    No!

    Because, you...

    You and I,

well we both  know that already

I need not to prove my identity to anybody

I am unapologetically, Muslim and no one can stop me!

    You see,

The achievement of those who have gone before me,

    inspire me to achieve,

The belief that others place in me

    give me reason to believe

I want to take you on a journey,

A journey of a lady who lead a Caravan of people held in Captivity

This is The Journey of Tears

    A long road of reminders

It is the Journey of Faith

    The Journey of Hope

In a time of struggle and discomfort

    AMIDST THE JOURNEY we see

Imam Sajjad’s shackled chains eat into his flesh as he drags his feet across the desert heat

    Mothers screaming, children fleeing

bibi Rubab watching a camel carry her son's looted cradle

Hussain’s daughter whitnesses her uncle’s water bag and whispers “ I am not thirsty, Uncle I am not thirsty”

    And yet

Across the desert an army waits

Beating drums as if a victory was made

as the women and children's hearts ache

    But they, do not know

The battle is not done yet

They have not yet met the Lady who will leave a legacy

Whose voice will burn the thoughts of the tyrant's throne

    Zainab is my Role Model

She shared her story, with confidence by captivating an audience of deceivers

Speaking to People who were poisoned by the propaganda of power, money and popularity

The trauma and trials she went through truly showed us what sacrifice meant

She stood strong and held a message with Taqwa and Tawakul Ala Allah

She believed in what she stood for, she had faith and trust in her creator

    “I see nothing but Beauty”

Were the Words she used in the face of oppression and tyranny

What brilliant words of empowerment and encouragement

Do you not see how she is not afraid of where she is from?

Do you not see that She is not scared to embrace her religion?

Do you not see how She does not surrender or succumb to her surpressers ?

She is empowering the people around her

She stood up for her rights

As a true advocate for justice, equality

    And humanity

You see, We are characters in a society, which dictates what our social norms and values become. Dictated by the mass media, large institutions and everyday life experiences.

So let me say it here, and let me say it now:

    I am not sorry.

I am not sorry for being a Muslim Hijabi

I am not sorry for trying to learn from those who inspire me

And I am definitely not sorry for what you label me

So I think like Zainab, we need to change our perception

    I am not a victim

    We are not victims

We have to be open about our vulnerabilities,

    Normalizing discrimination

Places you in the position of power over Privilege

    Let me be clear:

    Racism is real

And as much as we deny it, we are culprits

    Islamophobia is real

Unless we don't talk about it more

    We are internalizing it

We must Understand that we do have a problem, there is an issue, the stigma of mental health is simply ignored

People don't understand the impact of deceitful slander and how it may have a negative impact on a certain individual

So Do Your Part  and BE REAL

    Let’s Talk

We must learn to become allies in the face of oppression, let's use empathy vs sympathy

Take yourself outside of the worldly bubble you have created

For what matters most, is that in God's eyes we are all the same

    We will Struggle

Zainab Struggled, Hussain Struggled, the AhlulBayt Struggled

    As Zainab’s victory puts it

    ALLAH is always with you

Today in the UK is punish a Muslim day. A day created by some sick twisted people spreading hate. So I wrote this in light of it. UK is a diverse country and amongst all the haters and racist there are many gems. People who stand together and protect. However the hate and racism sometimes still manages to push through the impact is shocking no matter how hard everyone tries to stand tall and United. #racism #islamophobia #diverse #stayunited #staystrong #stayvigilent #besafe

    Islamophobia

The greeting we use literally translates to peace be upon you and me.
Yet you still stand judging when I greet in front of you,
Walking down the street with your eyes following me, whispers carried through the air.
Asked to leave "your" country and go back to where I came from,
Hold on one second, while I try to check in to the hospital where I was born.
Do you realise while you fight "terrorism" watching the news you're Terrorising me?

    Love a Muslim Day

Punish a Muslim Day- April 3rd
Really? Like really, society? You are punishing people for being Muslim? Is this the best you can do to help your people? Muslims can very easily reciprocate this act of hate upon other religious groups, but, no, they do not make it an official holiday to dramaticize and encourage evils. We use our words to defeat the curculating hate.

"Make America great again" Well, guess what? Before all, we should make the world great again. Wait, was the world ever great? A great question for my ancestors which I already know the answer to. Politicans come and go. Birth and death. This never-ending cycle is exhausting me as the world leaves no space for people to breath freely. The people of England threatening to punish Muslims on April 3rd is now becoming a holiday in many other nations as well. Really? Like really, society? If you can come up with Punish a Muslim Day, I can challenge you with Love a Muslim Day.

This is a message to the Muslim community around the world: Do Not Fear the people who are fooleshly threatening to destroy you because they are affraid you will kill them with kindness.

To all the Non-Muslims: be the example to haters by spreading love and positivity without descrimination.

To all the non-supporters of Muslims: are you ready to gulp the defeat you orchestrated?

Let not fear and ignorance, but rather unity deafeat Islamophobia.

    Love a Muslim Day

    Sanguine

    Sanguine stripes number seven
A white supremacists gift from their heaven
    Sanguine racists, cheer and call
Old man Trump; build that wall!

    Nationalist pride nasty and bitter
We have a new Fuhrer, an American Hitler
Neoliberal capitalism a plague of death
Right wing sympathizers, fodder of wealth

    Totalitarian oppression rising and evil
Muslims, Mexicans, Fags, Black and Poor
Militarized police attacks even the score
A tyranical madman vile and in charge

Nuclear missiles end all life in barrage
    Indigenous Nations finally exterminated
Oil and water never mixed well
The religous right, rapture ready and destined for Hell!
