Read MoreWhen you're young you're open to change, to idea's, to hope's, to dreams but as you grow old we've less time and we surround ourselves with what comforts us, what is familiar, what is known, we do not like uncharted territory anymore.
Uncharted territory would require that much time, effort, investment and we've less of each as we've grow old. We want simpler, meaningful things to add to our lives.
When we're young we meet a lot of people, we like majority of them because in each one of them we see a different promise, a hope, a self reflection that we fail to realise, as we'll grow old we'll keep limiting ourselves with.
We start to hang out with our work friends, our married couple friends, our kids best friends folks so often because they understand life more as they're in the same circumstances, it is much easier with them without having to explain, we feel belonged somehow.
The best friend from school I loved to play guitar with still only talks about guitars for some reason, he doesn't understand what shitty corporate life, politics feels like.
But then it's just how you don't understand his difficulties when he choose to pursue his passion, to come in a room full of people at a reunion where everyone's trying to prove how they've done better than the other.
No doubt the guitar gets all the score that you had the courage but not at all when it comes to being the successful one.
As you grow more old you understand you replaced and got replaced in that cycle when you shifted jobs, or your children's school, now you dooccassional pleasentaries, wishing on festivities to the lot of people you were comfortable with but then that's all.
The best friend from school you played guitar with still understands more chords of your life and remembers all of your family when the guy from office needed birthday mailers to even wish you on your birthday.
No, it isn't about if school or graduation friends are better or about how work colleagues are. It is about how there are some people who understand us, they've seen us change, they've seen us age, they accept us for who we've become even when we've not got the chance to grasp who we've become.
It is about how we think we'll click with a lot of people which we do in our lifetime and yet there are those few we keep going back to from time to time.
It is about those people who are okay with us running ahead, running far in life, and they are right there when we come back needing them. They make it look so effortless but it takes a lot to not be sore, it takes a lot to know someone so well and yet be at the shore.

The girl with the earphones
On the subway dancing
To symphonies of her battles.
The one with whom you
Exchange a smile with
Every once in a while.
You meet these people
Everyday at random places
And you know they are
Temporary people in your life.
But to you they are so important
For the short duration that
They are in your life
They make your life
A little bit liveable
Sprinkling little doses
Of happiness and sunshine.
A wave on the footpath,
A smile on the subway,
A complement at the store,
Mini interactions filled
With little secrets of life.
Random people and
Their random stories
Just like your random
Thoughts about them.
And sometimes one of
These random people
Get too close and be there
With you for a lifetime.

For in nights like these
