live a little
I lost my sanity trying to please him,
making him happy churning my own dreams,
as if his only motive was to destroy my soul,
kept on testing my trust and loyalty,
it wasn't enough regardless how much I tried,
I wanted him to stay, but he wanted to throw me away,
I shuddered at the very thought of him leaving me,
why doesn't he feel the pain like you can't breathe,
I begged him not to go,
and he had every reason to let go of me,
lifeless, broken and wounded,
but I could breathe yess,
then I realized it wasn't his fault
it was me who had given him the right to hurt me,
gave my heart to one who doesn't value,
loved unconditionally to one who doesn't deserve,
and I didn't lose him, but he lost me,
I am too precious, he couldn't afford me,
I am too tired justifying myself to others who worship themselves,
living my own dreams is now my motive,
I am done slaving and pleasing the world.
OH I WANT TO LIVE A LITTLE.
