Our journey in life begins much
Like a tightly closed little lotus bud
Buried deep in the murky water
Surrounded by filth and mud
To find our destiny we make our way through
Obstacles and troubles in life
In an attempt to find the environment that
Provides the sustenance to help us survive
Life akin to the lotus bud remains firmly
Attached to the dirt below the waters
But manages to rise above the surface
Unsullied by mud and on slaughter
The lotus disappears every night only to
Resurface and bloom again in the sunshine
This ability to resurrect itself when conducive
Of great resilience is considered a sign
This unattachment and non dependence
Defines the very basis of life itself
For only through good deeds can we hope
To find spiritual enlightenment for ourselves
The lotus teaches us the importance of
Learning to wait till the time is right
And how to bear life mired in suffering
Only to resurge with all our might
A symbol of purity, rebirth and enlightenment
The padma is an emblem of revival
It is ideally how our life should be, one of
Quiet compassion and aimed at survival

You call me names
You make fun of me
You try to make myself feel worse
All because I refused to be yours
But all these are like
Mud to the lotus
Don't you know ?

There is lotus

became a shallow pit.
Next Spring, birthed the first lotus
to commemorate this crossover of water & mud.

~Autobiography~
To bloom in gloom is what I follow,
The eutrotrophic atmosphere and the water should be shallow,
Lotus -how efficiently do they call me,
Sometimes taken for practicals, often offered to the diety,
I am at my best with worst conditions around,
Being humble is being attached to the ground,
How my folds are filled with shere suspense,
To be a blossom in swamp is not so easy hence!

LOTUS AND LIFE
Lotus is one of the most treasured aquatic
Known to be growing in water gardens
Lotus bloom all depends on diligence .
Lotus is replica of growing in the mud ,the mud was so dirty , literally shouted, I cant get dirty , it will suffocate me , I will stink if I dive in , I will be washed off my own skin but when I dived into the mud I saw the mud was not that much deep and dirty.. I somehow swam in the mud , met so many empty pebbles and shingles shouting that you will sink , at first I presumed that yes I will sink , but then I said y not give it a try walking in the mud , glad the choice and the decision of walking instead of swimming was the best choice I made. Walking in the mud , dipped half in the mud , shining and stinking.Thunder and storm came bringing heavy shower the mud was wiped off. , bringing the aroma back and yes praise deja vu Lotus came to know all about the sufferings faced by other lilies, Rose's . Lotus decided to contribute for upliftment of lilies and rose .At last lotus saw it's own petals blooming and glowing .

Nelumbo Nucifera
Layers of symmetry and spirituality splashed with delicate colour,
Disappearing at night into a deep mud filled slumber.
Hidden within the scared beauty of its delicate exterior,
Resurrection occurs daily as a symbolic newcomer.
Heavenly belief lost amongst the pointed towers of Giza,
Encased in a simple flower returning life to the universe.
No gold could stop that final moment of akinesia,
Dead be gone, or would rebirth antiquate the need for a hearse?
Buddha himself came forth upon a floating plant,
White meaning purity with yellow a representation of spiritual ascension.
First footsteps on Earth could not disenchant,
Blossoming new life through mother natures reinvention.
No loss or sacrifice, thousands of years in continued survival,
Living life with unwavering faith will ensure the most beautiful revival.

I am battling with writer's block. I have scribbled something. Not sure whether my thoughts have aligned properly.

Often my thoughts used to get parched
in the heat of competitions.
I've become a dormant volcano,
with hardly any eruption of value.
Life was like an active volcano before,
there was healthy vying.
Disgusted with all the dormancy,
at the least I am trying
to be like a lotus flower.
But if an eruption happens,
I hope my life would turn around.
My life may not be like how
I'd dreamed it to be,
at least it would be of some significance.
Lotus flower bloom
amidst the muddy mire.
It stays buoyant,
despite the slush.
It rises like a phoenix bird,
all elegant and powerful.
A volcano and a lotus
may not have a connection,
but a person can be
an amalgam of both.

Read MoreLife, lotus. Perhaps there is a reason that both start from the same letter. Maybe the reason, as the Egyptians highlight, is resurrection. But the thing is, life doesn't really resurrect. Once gone, it's gone forever. Some say that it's finally joined its faithful lover, Death. Some say that the soul has finally known peace. Whatever the case may be, life doesn't resurrect. I think we can all agree on that. How then, do we equate life and a lotus? Why do we view them as symbols?
The answer lies, according to me, in the fact that they are so vastly different from each other. Life lives every moment. There is no regret, no doing over in that case. What's done can't be changed, and those who leave can never come back. A lotus, though, lies inside the muddy pond, waiting for better days. It doesn't care how hard it is. It knows the fleeting nature of life, and holds on, knowing that once gone, life isn't coming back.
And, somewhere between a first time and a coming back, lies wisdom, stretched between the principles of something as big as life and something as little as a lotus.

In spring of love, hope was born in mother's womb
Before its blossom, girl child was called burden soon
No celebration marked her birth,not they did happy dance
She was secluded in cradle, neither father took a glance
In barren terra of love, she lived ages scribbling in dark
Crumbled in mother's laps, she Camouflaged all spark. .
Pious love of warrior ma ,protected her right from foetus
Cloaked in mud of patriarchy, she bloomed like the lotus
Facing all thumping of prejudice longing her decline
She rose to surface with aspiring heart seeking sunshine
Slowly she painted her dreamy sky vanishing blue face
Under moonlight she conquered survival her biggest race
Like the petals she stretched her wings of burning desire
Chasing her utopia her soul embraced strength as attire
Seldom she unleashed her ocean eyes in that filthy pond
With ink dipped in metaphor, tells all story without sound
And when the clock hits 11:11,she recites wishes to stars
Hoping for world without swords of bigotry giving scars
Gentle touch of equality, no breezes forcing her to be coy
