I Am
Let me tell y'all something,
I will be as obvious as can be.
I am who I am,
Why you gotta mess with me?
It's because of who I was
Always coming in dead last.
That I am who I am,
All because of my past.
I have traveled down roads,
Taken only by a few.
I am who I am.
You have NeVeR seen MY view.
I have spent the last few years,
Living my life day by day.
I got to who I am,
Somewhere along the way.
I use to stay mostly to myself,
So who could ever truly see.
How I was before,
And how I came to be.
Now I stop to take the time,
To enjoy the little things.
The wind in my hair, and
The songbird that sings.
I am much wiser now,
I learned to play 'the game'.
I am who I am,
I am by no means the same.
