You call us lazy and sleepy and deplorable.
Bullies, racists, criminals.
You say we are naive, passive, and rat-infested.
But we do not call you president.
We don’t call you mister or sir.
You do not lead, or govern, or unite.
You lie. You cheat. You bash.
You call them “very fine people.”
We are a nation, broken and tired.
And you will never be our president.

Meet The Boss
Hope lies in front of me like cheese at the end of a maze.
The rum tastes strong as I watch the news to finish the day.
America! Woohoo let's go ahead and build that wall.
It will be fun to tear down when the orange guy finally falls.
Embarrassed I say this is my country from the start,
The shame I feel is tearing me apart.
It's not like I have enough on my hands.
I have to deal with a President who loves the Ku Klux Klan?
Who cares about Russha? Who cares about Putin?
Can't people see what this guy is doing?
The destruction of the press and lie after lie.
Remember that one Star Wars movie?
This is how democracy dies.

It takes three hours every morning
To rub the sleep out of my eyes
Five or six more to believe
In another sunrise
I feel like I'm watching the end
The inevitable crash and burn
No tolerance, no safety
All those lessons still unlearned
The survival of the world
Hangs in the balance
But the man in charge can't
Understand the parlance
Finger on the trigger
He holds the world in his hands
Unheeding of any warning
The precarious position stands
Until I wake up tomorrow
And rub the sleep out of my eyes
To stare, disbelieving, at a nation
That could believe in all the lies
