Number of impressions
These numbers validate
Your purpose of existence
These numbers define
If true is our presence
But what if someday
These numbers come crashing down
Will you just give up and stop living
If these numbers don't increase
Will you deny your entire being
What if those people refuse to follow you
Yourself will you stop believing
Stop surviving on those numbers
Those numbers don't define you
It's your work you should care about
That should be original and true
These numbers are not the reality
Ultimately someday it's gonna end
Start living in a world real
Maybe some good stuff
Is awaiting at the next bend

Why are we so much after numbers?
Vehicles, Mansions and bank balances,,
Acres of land, employees or machineries,
Products, varieties, flavours and colours,
Facebook friends, watsapp groups, fan followers,
Countries visited, published papers, delivered lectures,
Degrees added, filed certificates, the promotions & felicitations,
Parties hosted and attended, gifts received, the invitees,
What do these numbers do in our lives?
When they are simply the numbers without any values?
Numbers are so cunning, don't run after them always,
Even zeros put at the right place can speak volumes.

Numbers, since childhood, always intrigued me,
There were times I was terrible at Math,
Yet numbers never failed to impress me.
For each of the ten had a uniqueness to them.
Zero (The Dumb King) :
According to me, there's no other number that's more powerful than the zero.
May be the dumbest among the lot,
Yet serves an unwavering purpose in solving an equation.
It is said that the zero has value only when it's placed after another digit,
I think that the zero likes to put others before itself,
Like a King who places the people first.
One (The Lonely Lover) :
The digit defining the Start,
For they say everything starts at one.
Loneliness is often compared with it,
I'd argue that it just likes to be independent.
It doesn't need anyone else,
For infinity, it can thrive on its own energy,
Like a one-sided lover thriving on their own love.
Two (The Odd Partner)
It has the ability to make any number even,
Like an estranged partner taking revenge.
Looks like a disabled question mark,
Though it's even, it is the odd one out.
Often, things come in pairs,
Life & death, Love & Hatred, War & Peace, etc.
Three (The Perfect Group)
The number three points;
To the Trinity,
Dimensions,
Beginning, middle, end,
And of course to a friends triad.
Imagine all the roasting done between,
Yet sticking together perfectly like the body, soul, and spirit.
Four (The Proud Balance)
Everything requires a balance,
And four achieves that with ease.
Take a rhombus or square,
Maintaining equality all the same.
Including the cardinal directions we are surrounded by.
Five (The High Minister)
Now this is an interesting one.
Comes in fingers, senses, natural elements, and a lot more.

Don't know what shit it smokes.
Might be a minister to the Dumb King,
For its every alternate multiple ends with the King's footprint.
Six (The Shy Deed)
Looks like a shy caterpillar,
Carbon's atomic number,
And probably Satan's lucky number too.
Replace the only vowel in its name with the vowel's predecessor,
Voila! It becomes the most sought out deed in the whole world.
Seven (The Commoner)
This number is more common than we observe,
The continental drift resulted in seven continents,
Ever wondered why there are only seven days in a week?
Colors in VIBGYOR,
Swaras in music,
Chakras in the body,
Rounds in marriage,
And the list goes on.
Eight (The Lazy Infinite)
While the lonely lover denotes the start,
eight represents the end or infinity,
When it's lazy and sleeps of course,
It is the atomic number of Oxygen,
The bit count in a Byte,
The time it takes for Sunlight to reach the Earth (8 minutes and 20 seconds),
And the footprints of arachnids.
(Imagine how hard it must be for an arachnid to commit a crime with all those tracks to cover.)
Nine (The Companion)
Another shy caterpillar,
But much more unique,
For example, the lives of a cat,
Beethoven's symphonies,
The navaratnas or the precious stones,
It was betrayed by Pluto else the planets too would have shared this number,
Often accompanies the Shy Deed.
Screw it, I don't know what else to add,
So I stop here.
But I guess you get the gist of it,
That there's more to numbers than meets the eye.
P.S. I am not a numerologist or an astrology hound looking for connections. I am just an idiot who's intrigued by numbers, that's all.

I remember being 10
When no one noticed
My breath.
I opened my window and
heard the birds' chirping along with the piano music
coming from house No. 9
Never skipped going on beach
in sunny morning of every Sunday.
I was making 8 on sand because I liked it's turnings.
Staring at those waves,
They seemed happy taking away
everything I made.
It was almost 7 in the evening,
Waiting for a friend
Who promised to see me in the afternoon,
But never showed up.
Coffee on my table,
Wind blew the curtains away.
Saw that 6th kid,
Who was tirelessly watching the white cloud
as if they were dancing.
While 5 of them were playing
and pretend to not notice
the presence of that
dreamer kid.
I pity myself for being up
till 4 in the morning,
Staring at those sleepless,
tired eyes;
Curating thoughts
up all night.
I inhale as I count 3
to exhale all the voidness and abyss
into the wind of
eternal serenity.
You always said that
2 of us complete the whole universe
of this tiny Space,
connecting every part of
broken stars.
The time I realised
About being the only 1
Who stayed even after you left long time ago,
Just like that start dust that bloomed away from promise of giving
company to the seeds
Of silent dandelion.
It was too late.
Things around me turns to 0.
I got nothing and everything.
The peace far away from melancholy
called my name
and invited me to its lovely house.

From 02-20 ( the story of a photographer)
Chalks were my cookies slates were black and blank. As Fresh as my 2+3year old budding brain.
I was 10 when The squares of my math note filled with 'X's & 'O's.
Later the 'O's were replaced by 'Y's and still the 'X' wasn't my ex. I am 15 now.
I use whiteners less to hide errors & more to write her name on the rusted edges of my steel writing table.
Alphabets had just 5 letters for a 15 year old to deside his life and they were F,L,A,M,E & S. (However I hated that 'E')
5 years later I learned making doddles out of π√|λθωµ.. Dudes taught me to turn symbols of linear algebra to some sexy boobies ⊙ and those boobies to some coolers. Wow! Am an artist now. (I also made out of those boobs) .
& Now, since boobies made cameras , love & lusts were also numbered. Still the numbers rule my Life
As ISO, FPS, FStops and shutter Speed.

One that I hid for I wasn't supposed to be jotting down heartbreaks and emotions in black ink in my sloppy handwriting.
It was always expected from me to be in love with numbers and numbers alone,
And I was; just not enough.
My hands shake involuntarily during the treasure hunt,
And I accidentally spill ink on some neatly written notes -
Perhaps it was math, I didn't check -
Having spotted the brown cover,
I shut the door with a click.
There's not many blank pages left to write what I feel,
So I first try to make sense of it.
Two digits -
And perhaps two decimal points after -
On a sheet of paper,
Will decide my future,
And tell whether I deserve to be somewhere I want to be,
Or if I'll get tossed and thrown away like million others.
Am I being punished for not loving numbers enough?
My hands don't come to rest,
And the ache in my chest doesn't seem to leave anytime soon.
I shut my eyes hoping I shut out my polished doubts,
But they stay nonetheless.
My mother calls out my name from the kitchen,
And I open my eyes,
Only to discover
A half-torn page marked with words
In my own writing,
Saying -
"Will I paint the world green,
Or such a dark shade of blue
That it stops being one?"

Why Do We Have to Know Math?
I hate math. No, I want to understand the concept of math.
No, I get math. No, I get the idea of math.
No, I don’t get the idea. No, math is boring.
Why do we have to know math?
Math is our eternal life. Math is our future.
On this earth, we have to know math to succeed-our destiny.
Math teaches us to understand how the world works in
concepts
sets
patterns
variables
structures
and logics.
We know and understand math every day.
At home, we use math while washing the dishes in sets.
When we cook we use math in formulas and recipes of how much ounces of sugar or salt used.
On the streets, we know math when we take steps in 2s and 3s.
We know math when we use our car GPS system to reach our destiny.
the rules on the road tell us which signs follow into a pattern to reach our destination.
At work, we know math when we cash our checks at the
bank
the keyboard
the clock
the phone
the watch
At the store, we know math when we give the store cashier a dollar, even when we do not know how to count well.
We know math when we put a quarter in the candy machine to get a narrow gumball or a plastic ring.
We know math when we put our debit card into the machine slot.
we know math when we obtain items.
Everywhere we go, we know math, we know how math works around the world even when we don't know math well.
We do not just have to know math,
Life is math.
