My Dear Home! It's been years since i have abandoned you! I came back a few times Not to stay..
How are your weak ceilings? They were half broken when i last saw.. How is the sky above you? How are my memories? The old me Who used to come back to your doorstep After withstanding the storms, Burning sun, And aloof walks.. Who came back to you every evening.. Holding beautiful memories of friendship, love and joy. Who found beauty in each and every corner of you. How are the plants my mother sowed in the yard.. Those trees? Are they still fruitful? Or are they long gone? Do birds ever land there to look for food? The cats that lived in that locality for generations.. I hope they still roam above your rotten walls! Tell me about the nights And rooms where we laid and rested. Tell me about that kitchen where i used to sit in the morning and tell all the stories to Apo While she used to cook me breakfast? Tell me you have her fingerprints on your walls? My Dear Home! You held a heaven inside those shaky walls of yours. You were small but kept us close together. Now i can't sleep in terror That i might not see my loved ones waking up in the morning. Remember how we used to sit under the shade of trees in summers? The nights we used to sit in the courtyard looking at the stars..? And how the rains made us all work on your dripping cielings? But you stood tall and strong Kept us safe. Held us together In the harshness of times And in the joys.
And i hope someday i'd come back To see you again. And maybe build a home in you. Once again. Maybe someday Someone will..
