For a moment in time, I was yours and you were mine. Just as quickly as you came into my life you left. I don't hate you but now I understand that real love does want to be kept. So I've let go of all the plans we build together. Including our future daughter. I've embraced my solitude which in turn gave me the power of gratitude.

I imagine it started in those fre revelations of time,
When I learned you're allowed to dream not chase,
When I learned that I owed everyone in this world,
When I learned some debts are paid with your life,
When I learned that silence can be so heavy at times,
I think I forced you to mature when,
I thought letting them think I was lazy was better,
Better than letting them know I wasn't their happy daughter,
When I thought that it's better to say no to the things I want,
So they will not say no to the things I needed,
When I learned to say no before even asking,
Because my happiness could be so expensive,
When I cut the chocolate into a bigger and smaller half,
Because I couldn't be selfish when I wasn't the one paying,
I'm sorry my childhood, I think I broke you too early,
That hurt travels with me now but it doesn't hurt anymore,
I'm used to it I promise it doesn't hurt anymore,
You're still the same jsut a little bit more selfish,
You have people now, don't worry you're not alone anymore,
I'm sorry to make you think you could only want what you need,
I'm sorry to make you believe it was your responsibility to be like this,
You weren't selfish my love, you were jsut a little kid,
Its okay to want that colouring book,
Its okay to want those toys,
Its okay to ask for something you don't need,
Don't be hesitant one of those time they'll say yes,
I promise you once they will say yes,
You're so strong and I'm so grateful you kept me alive,
Things don't get better but I promise I'll make us a better life.

Its been so long since my tears dripped down glass,
I would apologise but what do I apologise for?
Should I apologise for not feeling or feeling too much,
Apologise for not being able to form worlds or not being able to write them down,
Its been empty couple of months,
Heart breaks everyday and fixes itself for the day to come,
I seem to be in this vicious cycle of given up but still breathing,
I've been lying to people, lying about my heart,
Maybe I'm tried of saying I'm fine, maybe I'm jsut tired,
But I know I no longer exists for living, I exist for death,
A regular void and more empty days seem part of a routine,
I cry for myself, I cry for the person I became,
I cry for everything I didn't do today and everything I won't do tmr,
I feel helpless for all my responsibilities I have ignored,
Helpless for all the chances and opportunities I have let go,
I feel everything people think I'm not,
I feel weak,
I feel alone,
I feel dead,
Yet I feel nothing.

कभी-कभी खुद को बिखरे रहने देने का मन होता है ठीक वैसे ही जैसे आकाश और नदी के चारों ओर प्रेम की चादर फैली हुई होती है। सिमटे हुए रहने में थोड़ी घुटन सी महसुस होती है। प्रेम को हृदय में दबा कर रखना असंभव सा हो जाता है। कहते हैं- जिंदगी में हर चीज हिसाब से होना और संतुलित मात्रा में होना बहुत आवश्यक होता है, परंतु मैं इस बात से इत्तेफाक नहीं रखती हूँ, मेरा मानना है प्रेम में हिसाब-किताब की जरूरत नहीं होती है। ये जरूरी नहीं तुम जितना जिससे प्रेम करो बदले में वो भी तुम्हें सूद समेत उसी मात्रा में वापस लौटा दे, ये "प्रेम" कोई व्यापार नहीं है, न ही कोई जरूरत की कोई वस्तु है, जिसे हम खरीद और बेच सकते हैं, अपने हिसाब से। प्रेम तो गंगा नदी में बहती पावन जलधारा है जिसे अपनी इच्छा अनुसार बहते रहना पसंद है, उसे किसी भी प्रकार का ठहराव नहीं पसंद है। जितना प्रेम आप किसी से करोगे बिन कोई अपेक्षा रखे ये उतना ही आपको सुकून दे जाएगा। प्रेम करने का कोई निश्चित समय या कोई दिन नहीं तय किया जा सकता है इसे बाँध कर नहीं रखा जा सकता है, पर न जाने क्यों आज प्रेम दिवस के नाम पर चारो ओर प्रेम की बारिशें इस तरह से हो रही हैं जैसे मानो आज का दिन आखिरी हो और कल कोई तूफान आ जाए आपके मन से प्रेम की भावना को नष्ट कर जाएगा, प्रेम कोई समाप्त होने की वस्तु नहीं है, देते जाना बस खुले मन से जितना दे सकते हो, ये कभी ना खत्म होने जैसा है। इससे आप छू तो नहीं सकते बस महसूस कर सकते हैं..कभी किसी से बेहिसाब प्रेम करके देखिए आप खुद भी खुद को टूटकर चाहने से नहीं रोक पाऐंगे, बस उस दिन आप प्रेम से रुबरू हो पाऐंगे।

Ashamed? I am.
Ashamed that
aimless hearts
lead idle hands.
How they steal land
from shores of sand
to where we stand.
It’s crazy and
It seems so hazily planned.
I don’t understand
hate for different brands,
when simply holding hands
makes us stronger than
any single man.
Suddenly,
as I’m awakening
I get this feeling that's the strangest,
but society’s seeming stranger.
Hurried hearts have had to hasten;
jealous always of the next thing.
Germinating jealousy zealously,
these zealots can’t inspire me.
Waking words and single terms
Sung and strung
like a rope held tight,
taught, tight-rope high.
I’m shaking now;
seemingly starting
to perceive somehow
the spot's leopard,
savage shepherds
leaving me in limbo,
but in limbo I will never be.
for on four winds I am free.
It ain’t the end, my friend, you’ll see.
For when fate
tries to break things,
it’ll find me, bending;
heart charred, but still standing;
taking flight, not landing.
No need for sidling the sideways,
I’ll slide in solely the right way.
Fearing not the folks who fight it;
unless by “folks,” I mean me.
Blessed belief
is best bequeathed
to all you see;
Proven its
Proven-to-be,
for sure,
a soon-fated thing;
Perceptibly seen.
Mind’s eye made real:
manifesting magical
intangible miracles;
practically plentiful periods
remembered in rhyme
...after your time.
