इश्क़ का एक उसूल पुराना होता है...
कभी कभी यूँ ही मान लेनी होती है
गलतियां न होने पे भी
किसी का दिल रखने को,
टूट न जाये रिश्ते आँधियों में दरख्तों की तरह,
कभी कभी यूँ ही पौधों की तरह
झुक जाना होता है।।

दो वक्त रोटी बस क्या नही चाहिए इस बदन को चलाने के लिए,
दो गज ज़मीन बस क्या काफी नहीं ओढ़ने बिछाने के लिए,
क्यों हैरान परेशान भागता फिर रहा है ए ज़माने,
किसी मजलूम की दुआएं क्या काफी नही है कमाने के लिए.
जिसके कहने से चलते है रात औ दिन...
उसकी रहमत क्या काफ़ी नही तुझ को चलाने के लिए..
आजमाईश इंसा की नही, उसके यकीन की होती है,
यहां वहा,ंइसे उसे क्या ढूंढता है हैरान होकर,
खुदा क्या काफी नही तेरा साथ निभाने के लिए।

किसी किताब में सिमटा कागज कोरा सा हूँ मैं,
तेरे बिन आधा अधूरा सा हूँ मैं,
वो राह जो जाती कहीं नही,
मंजिल को बस देखती रहती है,
उस राह सुनसान सा हूँ मैं,
लाखों चेहरे पहचाने से,
फिर भी कोई जानता नही...
भीड़ भरे शहर मैं अनजान सा हूँ मै,
फूल खिलते है मुरझाते है हज़ारों
अदद तेरे इन्तेज़ार मे,
स्याह रातों में जंगल बियाबान सा हूँ मैं,
लाखों अफ़साने सुने अनसुने,
नगमे दर्द भरे रोज वही,
वही पुराने ख़त जो तूने लिखे थे,
पढ़ता हूँ रोज कई कई बार...
इस दिल मे अरमान कई बेरंग से है...
रंग भर दे नए,
तेरे चेहरे का नूर झलका,
रोशन ये मेरा जहां करदे,
कब तलक यूँ मायूस दिल तेरा रास्ता देखे,
मैंने तेरे नाम लिख दी ये जान अपनी,
तू मेरे नाम अपना ये जहान लिख दे,
मेरे जीवन के पन्नो पे कुछ किस्से लिख दे.....
जो आधे अधूरे से छूटे है वो हिस्से लिख दे।

छोड़ो, क्या रूठना किसी से किसी बात पे,
मनाने की फुरसत यहां किसी को नहीं है!
बुझ जाए शमा तो नई जला लेते हैं लोग,
बुझती शमा को बचाने की इंसानी फ़ितरत नही है,
सुनो, गुल ऐ मोहब्बत कहीं और जाओ,
उजड़ते चमन को फिर से बसाने की कोशिश करे
अब इतनी मेहनत की आदत किसी को नही है!
वो लैला वो मजनू वो फरहाद-शीरी कहाँ ढूंढते हो,
जो हीरों से भी ना तौली जा पाए,
ऐसी ख़ालिस मोहब्बत अब किसी दिल मे बसती नही है !!
