A Shift Into Peace
An orange glow rested
Stuck in the trance of a thought
Staring blankly as the sun began to set
A voice inside never stops talking
Caught in a place between worries and reality
Is there ever anything more than constant anxiety?
Every living moment is spent against my own thoughts fighting me
Is there ever a release from a mind constantly denying me?
Probably not, I thought to myself I closed and opened my eyes slowly
Staring into the sunset and searching for some kind of peace
In that moment, a song began to play and I felt a different feeling unfolding
It grabbed me from sinking more into the negative place my mind was going
I felt a weightless feeling as if floating in low gravity
Free from negativity that's always attached and attacking me
I began to rock my head to the energy of a positively charged beat
I allowed my soul and body to continue floating into a golden sunrise
But differently then my opening line
A shift into peace was given to me this time

With a mind like a prison cell
My thoughts and I live by ourself
There's benefits which help me excel
Also a negative side residing in the same nutshell
These words I spell are what tell a story
Of the feelings locked away simply for being born
If I don't write for them, they become predatory
My mind starts attacking it's own territory
These are important and bring a release
The thoughts are heard and I'm at peace
