When I say "I'm fine" I'm not
When I say "it's whatever" it's something
When I say "don't worry about it" it means worry about it
When I say "it doesn't matter" it does to me
When I say "I'm not hungry" I'm starving
When I say "I'm okay" I'm lying
When I abbreviate words via text, it means I'm upset
When I wrap my arms around my waist, it means I'm self conscious and uncomfortable
When I say I hate selfies, it means I think I'm too ugly to be photographed
When I say "it's okay" it isn't
When I end my texts in a period, it usually means I'm upset
When I say I hate myself, I do
When I say I hate my body, I do
When I say my arm hurts, it usually means I cut the night before
It's not just me trying to be a dramatic, edgy teen who's trying to fit in
But you don't pay close enough attention
You're not me
You can't read my mind
So you don't know
So I'll just keep saying "I'm fine"
I'll keep saying "it's whatever"
I'll keep saying "it doesn't matter"
And that "I'm not hungry"
Because...
