I find it interesting how there is an unspoken understanding about the mental safe place of rooftops.
Maybe it is that we feel closer to heaven here, or that we just don't have to perform since no one tends to look up here, we are hidden.
For me it is the serenity, the absolute calm that allows me to refocus.
From here I can take in the beauty of you reflected in your creation.
Here it is secluded enough for me to be vulnerable to you, showing you my heart exposed, oh Lord.
Here it is quiet enough for everything to stop, for me to be still so I can truly know you.
It is here I can let my thoughts and wants go for it is here I meet with you.
I sit at your feet in awe, taking in all I can.
You fill me with your love and grace, smiling on me with a gentle kindness like no other.
You meet me here where you found me, searching rooftops for answers only you could give.
Oh how gracious you are to me.

I call out to the land of time to give me a step up to see where I’m at, to take a super step down to then head for to top shelf of life, to be in the kind of enjoyment by the rivers of life flowering of the morning dew drops come by the stacks of rose-sunflower that are covering the meadows dirt floor covered by the sky roof.

Can you hear the drops of rain?
Tip-Tip, Tip-Tip telling a story,
the story of peace in pain,
the story of fields with grain.
The immortal, signifying it's glory.
Stop being poetic!
Make some tea and light some grass.
We will do taxi, one drag and pass
Here comes the rainbow with different shades.
Now let me be poetic, till it fades.
We enjoyed hundred sunsets and night stars.
We created our own clubhouse with a small bar.
Months past, and then came the month of May.
I saw atleast two dozen strangers on your birthday.
A fight broke out, one of the stranger was rattling his sabre.
Never noticed before, damn! we had so many neighbours.
Landlord came, we lied but there were enough proof.
Till the day, I miss the room on the roof.

We were immersed in each other and lost to the world.
Now,
years after you left,
I still sit down at the same roof and take a walk down the memory lane.
I look at the stars and remember the feel of your body next to mine.
I light a cigarette and remember the brush of your fingers against mine as we passed one.
I take a drag and then two.

Rooftops were unheated
due to the glare of incoming clouds.
I wanted to launch myself into the weather
and not care about sleep
that left me so often.
Not a moment's sorrow
existed in the skies above,
even after being abandoned
by the heat of the sun.
It had its own troubles
of unattained sleep I guessed.
And beneath it, its people had other complaints
I didn't want to add up to that pile.
The sky had dealt much in a while.
Hence on shadowed rooftops,
I stood still and savoured the wind
that slowly rose from narrow corners
and took my drowsiness away.
The rain later was a Deity's gift,
silently claiming its hold—
over my sleep deprived soul

Back in the city!!
Back in those lanes...
I felt the feeling resonating through my veins...
The city where I first opened my eyes...
Not been long...but still feels as if I had been away since ages...
Some similar faces I saw...some favorite roads I visited...
The place from where I once wanted to run...
The place for which I long to stay in now...
Everything seemed a blur as I stood over that rooftop...which yes...offered me a strength I lacked ever before!
