Shipwreck
But we still breathe, as our
Blood runs like acid,
We still breathe, we
Still lie in wait,
Waiting for the night to end,
Say, where is the beauty
To be found in ruins,
Unless you watch the sun
Rise on us, unless you watch
The sunrise with me.

Fighting the dark sea,
We're torn apart in the
Quiet of the night,
As the waves crash on shores,
We're scattered like a thousand
Seeds, clutching to the sand,
Hoping against hope to be
Nourished again, will the sea breeze
Carry our cries, will the seagulls
Bring us morsels of sustenance,
Our threads flowing like a river of
Pain, see how we have come undone,
The rich tapestry that we were,
Is a bitter reminder, how the tides
Change, how the mighty fall,
In the moment, we are no more
Than a shipwreck, clinging to
Memories when oxygen didn't
Burn our lungs and our throats
Were not hoarse, choking on
The ashes of our solace,

Shipwreck
Swimming in rancor
Morning on breath
Dragging at anchor
Weathering the depth
Sinking then sank her
Reckoning we wept
Floating unanswered
Feeling but inept
Drowning our cancer
Acknowledging Death

#Words:
LOVER’S LINES
Two hearts sail the same ocean
without notion
blind to their devotion
both stricken
in the same shipwreck
above board and below deck.
feeling a sun set
not risen yet
finding their way by
moon-sight, and candle light
maybe they just might
follow each other
blind leading the blind
as the clock unwinds, turning back time
are these just memories of time they spent sleeping?
surviving sweetly
in the hours between
dusk and dawn
pitch and yaw

@lovenotes_from_carolyn I appreciate that more than you know!
Much of the words there "I pulled out of the air," with little thought required, as if the lines were already literal; like the words were there flittering, waiting to whispering wit fittingly,
I must admit I am surprised at how prolific I have been in the last few days.
Would you believe that I, up until this week, had never in my life strayed from iambic timing and rhyme scheme structure in writing poetry?
Constrained prose since I was 8 years old, and I will say I am shocked at how freeing it is. - lovenotes_from_carolyn I can understand that because that's the way I write. I don't seek out the words, I let them come to me. I find that the results are much better that way as opposed to "trying" to write. Other than that, I tend to be highly unstructured and undisciplined. I don't stick with any particular style or format; and although the greater majority of my poems rhyme, I do write free verse and haiku poetry now and then.
The waves crashing down
as if Poseidon is in war
I, the shipwreck sailor
was pulled in to,
the treacherous whirlpools.
Hanging on the last log,
pushing through the waves
the sailor is in search of shore
little does he know,
shore is a distant dream
a beautiful mirage
to lure him in to depths
Until his last breath
is sucked in to the salty breeze

Lighthouse.
You were the lighthouse,
Shining, faint amidst a storm.
You were a warning, of trouble around.
I, a mere ship caught in the storm.
Tossing around, blind in the storm.
Should I choose to steer away,
Or should I crash into you?
Could I stay alive this way,
Wrecked in the shade of your glow?
I would choose to fall into you,
Crash into your rocks, your locks,
your gold, shining torch.
I would choose to crash into you,
For a shipwreck old, has beauty too.
I would choose to crash into you,
Lose my soul to you,
But stay by your side,
on the rocks by your side,
Knowing that this ship had sailed wide.
Knowing that this ship has docked right.

SOS
When times were merry, they never worried
The bright captain kept the passengers entertained
But a big bad storm lurked in the corner
The hapless honest sailors warned of the dangers
But no one listened, all so drunk in the party spirit
"Keep them distracted and mind your own business"
Were orders from the "all-powerful" above
Those vile leaders who knew a storm was incoming
Cause they too had contributed to it's rising
And when the turmoil finally hit the seas
The commoners cried for help to the mighty
But the higher-ups were already absconding
Cause life-saving wasn't a part of the job description
Thus, nothing could be salvaged from the shipwreck
The despondent threw every valuable from the deck
The tumultuous waters held no hope whatsoever
They submissively braced up for the inevitable
But the storm passed by, and the damage sustained
The survivors contemplated the aftermath of ruin.
They eventually realize they had been played
After every single command they obeyed in faith
Now all they could do is survive on their own
Cause SOS signs won't save the abandoned.

Hold On

Life goes through
A storm, a shipwreck
Hold on to a plank
The shore is Near

Once upon a time
There was a ship
In the middle of the sea
And no one knew how it got there
It just was
And you see
The ship is me
I don't know how I got here I just am
So leave while you can
Because I'm not a person who functions rationally
Much like a shipwreck of the sea
I am broken

drowning beneath these waves
and loosing against the tide
can you salvage my bones
from the bottom of the pacific?
because you can't save my soul
when you're a ghost
on a shipwreck.

Isn't it trivial
This life
And all of it's frivolous follies
Waiting and waiting
Dancing in lines
Working hard
To survive until Friday
Striving to hold it all together
To not appear to be
A ship wrecked at sea
All the while stumbling
Through the darkness on the inside
Trying to get from point A to point B
Sliding along the window ledge
Of tomorrow
Hoping that it may not be

Hunger
As our bodies were dragged
By the waves of terror onto the shore
Petrified, when i saw a dog tear into the meat
Of my lover
Heckled, to scare it away
A moral burial is the least she deserved
Days of hunger followed
Sat at the shore with the rabid dog for days,
He awaits my death, to immerse his canine
Into my soul
That evening, Dug the grave and pulled her out
His eyes filled with lust, ravishing on the
Half decayed bodied of my past
We both relished her body,
Relieved that i was united once again, with her
In spirit and BODY.

Launched at Daybreak
An armada of steel
Has returned for my rusted frame
In this shallow backwater,
The horizon thunders
So I drift from the reeds
Dislodged from decay,
Fit again to reap glory
In the roll and crash
Of a boiling black tide

A Sailor's Battle Cry (reversed poetry)
This is me waking up!
All their untruths can rest and stop
For I can never compel the way of my head
And my mind is powerless
Every ounce of me is but an animate dread
I no longer agree that
I can survive this massive, oceanic combat
In throttling these inner demons,
I have only discovered how
Nothing really matters!
They all talk, but
They are right, I was a useless tatter,
All torn, and squandered and bewildered
I cannot be
My own captain, my own compass.
I am a sailor
A victim of her own shipwreck
It is impossible to make this one
Believe!
Well, listen to my heart, it only utters,
Why?
"Why?!"
And somewhere I can hear the pirate of defeat screaming,
"I won."
(Now read from bottom to top).

Crinkled
Hands like crinkled paper,
Adorned with golden yellow bangles and a diamond ring.
I was sitting behind her.
We know each other as acquaintances
Feeling like a ship wreck survivor who has been weltering in the deep sea for long, looking at the destroyed HOPE.
"HOPE" which was there in her hands few hours ago.
Her raimnet? White! Without a wrinkle.
Maintaining her mein, as she has been doing all these years.
Her hands as if were only meant to wipe away tears damping her crinkled paper face.11 7- danny_a @reclusive_soul good one...

"Castaways"
We are lost at sea
Caught in a tempestuous current
I'm desending closer to obscurity
While your sinking beneath me
We threw mid-summer nights away-
Watched the ocean swell & sway
Collected coastal treasures
& Lived nine lifetimes in one day
We're suburban strays
Setting white lies ablaze
Tally up the embers of dishonesty
Cherish the last of the good old days
Heavy hearts,
Destined to sink this ship
Cursed with impulse and dark clouds
Bound to carry us adrift
Were castaways who've seen better days
"I love you" remains a phrase that pays8 2 1poetica_101 223w

#shipwreck #love #voice #stranded #teachers #dreams #suffocated #drownedI can't speak.
It seems my voice has deserted me .
Leaving me broken and stranded.
Like a shipwreck.
There is so much that I wanted to say .
I wanted to tell my mother ,
how much she matters to me ,
inspite of the painful things I said ,
during our argument last night .
I wanted to call up my sister and chat with her for hours on end,
pouring out my pain & stress &strain &heartache ,
in front of her patient ears .
I want to ask for forgiveness ,
from the teacher who I troubled so much
,and yet ,learned much from.
And I want to hug my dad tight,
and tell him he will always be my first love ,
no matter what happens .
But it's too late now ,
to say those important things that should've been said long ago.
And as the weight of these unsaid words suffocates me ,drowns me from within,
I realise how painfully little time we have ,
to tell our close ones ,
inspite of what we say when we are angry or irritated ,
how much we care for them.
I can't speak.
It seems my voice has deserted me .
Leaving me broken and stranded.
Like a shipwreck.

Shadows of a sunken ship
The water was darker than the surface here,
Mornings couldn't make any difference here.
Moss surrounded the once painted walls,
The outline remained of once crowded halls...
Sailors cabin carried numerous screams,
Several attempts to save the dreams...
A room in the corner was something different,
A shadow lurked in the still water indifferent...
Her clothes were torn and skin so pale,
Search in her helpless eyes begged to bail...
Flowing with the current she appeared lost,
Made her way into the eroding hallway with a motion so betossed...
Arriving at the end she stared into the ocean's oblivion,
Staring out of the cracked glass window with delirium,
She closed her bloodless eyes and leaped to escape the ship so gloomy...
Appeared a familiar shadow...
Swimming towards her through the hallways aglow.
A smile spread on her parched cracked lips,
With her eyes still closed, she walked right into it.
