    Birthday Boy ShriRam

    The day's arriving, the auspicious one!
    But Oh The Ruling Lord looks fumed
    What did you do or perhaps I
    Even Sita Mayya seems confused
    Well, I know, I did some mess
    But we need to make him smile again
    While Shri Hanuman sings his eulogies
    We sit together to make a plan
    "Look" I say, "like a child,
    His baby face sprouts a pout"
    "And we don't even know why"
    Says Ashu Di, "or what is it about!?"
    One thing leads to another
    And we come upon an idea
    But this would not be easy to hide
    From either Raghav or his Siya
    So we plan to include
    Our Ma in our little plot
    While I execute this, Ashu Di
    Goes about informing the whole abode
    So I enter the chambers of our parents
    And climb to Mayya's lap
    While Raghav sits with his phone
    As if busy on Vaishnav-Chat
    So I quietly exit the room
    After sliding the secret letter to Ma
    And she smiles acknowledging
    And appreciating our idea
    So the day comes, the Navami of Chaitra
    But everyone quietly does daily chores
    Raghav raises an eyebrow, in surprise
    As he keeps staring around and all
    But no one seems bothered
    So he proceeds towards his throne
    Moving with his pout on,
    He picks up his bright blue phone
    But as he sits at the couch
    All the lights go off, it's dark
    Then a glowing figure appears in the middle
    Its Ma, with her lovely charm!
    Her golden glow emanates the room
    As she sings his eulogies with love
    While everyone emerges from the shadows
    Each in a different bright colour!
    We dance and sport and form the scenes
    Beloved to his heart and soul,
    We celebrate and enact upon his Katha,
    While food is served to the lovely God!
    Some fondle him, and decorate his hair
    While some relatives offer a sweet
    Some give presents and elders shower love
    While little children press his Feet!
    ShriRam lights up, his face is brightened
    As Ma Jaanki caresses him along
    He seems impressed and every voice chants
    "Long live our Sweetest Lord!"

    Okay, so this idea most twenty first century devotees like that ShriHari should've a phone and a Vaishnav Chat (app like insta perhaps invented by me ��), so that every Vaishnav, every devotee, could chat with him easily.. So I added this element for fun.
    And, I am not lying ShriRam was really making a face these days... And Sita Ma also looked confused.. So Aarsha Di told me to fondle him, like really he smiles when you give him love filled attention.
    So don't ignore ShriRam today, play with him, love him, worship him, celebrate the day and MAKE HIM HAPPY!

    One who is the beloved of Narayana, and is himself his throne called 'Shesha'
    Whose deities are ShriVishnu and The Lotus Goddess Lakshmi themselves

    One, in whom, the vices of attachment, pleasure etc are absent
    One who is worshiped by all hymns and Vedas
    One who himself is the elder brother of Goddess ShriGodha

    When Partha lost his way, in the battlefield
    Out of grief, he approached your lotus feet
    When Vibhishan came, grieved by his brother

    You took Rukmini at once, when she called you
    Only you are fit to be approached by hearts which are true

    *Aapath/Aapadh Bandhava means one who gets us out of our troubles and problems.

    If in this life, my darkness comes before he does to protect me, I will sleep surrounded in the darkness deprived of the light he is. If I am not able to see him before my eyes close in the darkness I have always been, my life, my each breath would be worthless, if he doesn't hear my plead to save me from this darkness, I don't know when next would I get a human birth to contemplate on him.

    This human birth is very very precious, use it wisely to sing his praise and come out of darkness for when it ends, you never know when you will be human again and be able to approach him for no other being can do devotion like a human until and unless he is graced by ShriBhagwan or ShriVaishnavas themselves.

    • time_pass because you are not close to God, dont ever think that you are bad ( in your about ), my chotta behen. There is a lot of difference between these two. I am commenting here only because i had the same thought few years back. You might be far away from your expectation of divinity, but still you are filled with virtues. The world has so much filth and dirt, that I reckon, they may even call you divine. Strive to reach a more divine state of body and mind; but even if you do not succeed, never call yourself bad. You are too good to not recognise the brightness of the pearl you wear
    • shrihari_nandini @time_pass I am so overwhelmed by your kind words Bhaiya.. But the truth is that I may even seem divine, however I am far from it.. I am really bad.. And I have known it.. From a lot of other factors which are unknown to the world.. And I want to say the truth. I don't want anyone to believe that I am virtous or great whereas in reality I am not.. I know and Bhagwan knows what demons lurk in me but I know he will defeat them one day. I know..
    • time_pass @shrihari_nandini this is exactly how i spoke when i was in class 9, and thankfully i had one good friend who used to console me and make me understand about the practical world. Today i realise, how good i was back then. I have a small idea of what is going through your mind. And i also know that it would be very difficult to make you convince the truth.
      But to my young sister, i have a request. Dont be over religious and blindly go by the wordings of sacred texts, if you read any. You cannot incorporate it whole, or even a part of it into your real life. Still, it is okay. Life is not meant to be always good.
      Look at krishna. He was never a good man, he was a practical man. He killed hundreds of thousands of people. But he did it for a good intention. You can never relate him to an ideal human being, because he had also done all kinds of mischief. Yet, at every point, he had empathy in his heart.
      So, i suggest that you do not make an attempt to wear an ideal attire within you. Try to live as profoundly as possible. You have enough and more innocence within you. Trust me in that. You are sadly admitting that you are bad only because you have a big innocent mind within.
      Retain that innocence, thats all what you need to do.. dont get yourself down over this small stuff dear.. for you are one who can generate more joy around.
    • shrihari_nandini @time_pass Maybe you're right about it.. We cannot be exactly as perfect as our texts tell.. I tried very hard, but whenever I am not able to do all the things I am supposed to do.. (Worship, humility, devotion) I feel very low about myself, like a misfit in the world of devotees.
      ShriKrishna is always perfect and his each act is perfect. He never did a wrong.. And he is purely good. I don't think I should compare my imperfect self with him, bhaiya
      I try to be good (things that am supposed to do)... I fail.. I don't know if I would ever be able to do it, unless I develop complete faith on ShriHari.. You're so nice Bhaiya, you made me feel nice about myself today.. A big Thank You ☺ if I get back to myself, my child like self, then that really would be my greatest present ❤ Thanks a lot!     • time_pass Sorry for long comments mere behen, but like I said, you speak exactly like the old me. Thats why i am typing such lengthy texts.
      I might be wrong in telling this, because 'what is krishna' depends on how we percieve him. But i feel that being imperfect is like being Krishna. You might be looking at him as a deity, an idol or a super power. This is the same way how i looked at him 4-5 years back. But now for me, Krishna is just a human being, who could do more than humane, because of the control he had over his life energies. Still, his life was a complete struggle to implement his plan of social welfare. He had failed many a times, but he was very happy with it. He was an ecstacy generating machine. Even after being so strong, Krishna could not do anything to stop the dyooth sabha from happening where draupadi got insulted. Krishna could not stop the war from happening, where millions died. He could not save Abhimanyu or the little pandavas. At the end, everyone blamed him. Krishna fought all through his life to rehabilitate dharma, and at the end, all criticisms ended upon him. Still, he was as happy as he could ever be. He didnt even bother what people said about him. That is the clarity Krishna had on himself.
      And you know, Krishna had even gone against rules and ethics of the war. Drona was killed in an unjust manner, and so was Karna. Yet, Krishna didnt even bother to regret about that. Because he knew why he did all this. So, i feel that it is not necessary to be the ideal and ordered person. As long as your conscience is aware of what you are, never stop yourself from taking a new road.
      These all are just my views. I dont know how you get it. But i really pray that you be in the right track towards realising the ultimate. keep your innocence as well

    All I wish for now is a devoted life

    I never lose a thought of them (that's my prayer)
    And give me neither jewels or gems
    I've known devotees many such
    Who conquered senses by his Feet's dust
    Then can I not conquer my petty mind

    *I here use the words Gods because here I mean to say people who consider themselves as God and who are rich and egoistic due to that. God is only one, writing Gods isn't correct. For celestials other than ShrimanNarayana, they are called Devi- Devatas.

    I am tired of my foolish mind and desires. If someone could gift me the taste of ShriVishnu's Lotus Feet then I will be an unpaid servant to him/her. (This is the role of an Acharya though �� one who joins us with His Lotus Feet is an Acharya and none else.)

    ShriVallabhAcharya wrote MadhurAshtakam on ShriKrishn. It had eight paragraphs describing the various attributes of Bhagwaan, but it had only one adjective that is 'Madhur' or 'Sweet' each line ending with MadhurAdhiPaterAkhilam Madhuram' meaning everything is sweet about the Lord of Sweetness.

    Just like a lover finds everything about his loved one as sweet, his speech, his voice, his gait, his smile, his hands, his feet, his eyes, his eye movements and everything, similarly did Shri VallabhAcharya wrote about our Bhagwan with whom he was in love with.

    It is veryyyyyyyyyyy sweet to hear and recite.
    In fact it is said to be the favourite hymn of Bhagwan ShriKrishna himself!
    No wonder it is a gem in itself!

    My best friend and my sister @aarsha_ns di told me to write something similar on ShriRaam. Since I do not know Sanskrit, I gave my naive attempt to write something like this in Hindi for ShriRaam Bhagwan with eight paragraphs using the adjective Madhur in each line for each of his attribute and the last line for each para being 'Akhil Madhur SiyaNaath', that is 'The Lord of Siya is entirely sweet' ��❤��

    And on this occasion of Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami, I am sharing it with everyone.

    In this last part, of ShriLakshmi Charit, I have described the Kripa (Mercy) of Devi Lakshmi, and the opulences she can provide. She being the Supreme Mother, there is absolutely nothing impossible for her. Therefore, she provides to one the blessings of wealth (Dhan), crops(Dhaanya), progeny (Santaan), Victory (Vijay), Dhairya (Patience), Boons (Vardaan), devotion to her and Narayana (Bhakti) and lastly the most important goal of human life, Liberation (Mukti).
    She is the one who guides the path of sages, she is the one who provides one the supreme knowledge to attain Moksha and service to ShriLakshmiNarayana. She destroys all inauspiciousness and gives rise to all kinds of auspiciousness for us and her devotees, Sharnagatas!
    She is the Goddess of My Heart ❤
    Hence I pray to her to provide endless mercy to that person who recites this hymn 'ShriLakshmi Charit' daily or routinely.

    Explanation:
    ShriLakshmi has an important role is Sharnagati. In fact in ShriVaishnav Tilak the two white lines represent Jeeva and Parmatma and the red line in between represents Ma Lakshmi. In the ninth para, I have described her rulership over everything, therefore she can provide the Supreme Bliss to anyone by her grace alone.
    She very mercifully provides her grace to the ones who take shelter in her. (Sharnagatas). She always present on the feet of Narayana where one jeeva can approach him, not only this she is also present in his heart forever. Therefore, she from one side she welcomes the Jeevas in serving Hari and on the other side she being the Queen of Hari's Heart, makes him forgive all sins and trespasses of Jeevas and makes them eligible to serve them. And then, she very lovingly gives them the fortune of serving both her and her Lord forever in ShriVaikuntha. This is her mercy!!!!!

    Explanation:
    Lakshmi is always present with Hari and both out of their compassion to save us, destroy Adharma and nurture devotees descend in various forms.
    Tulsi Devi, the pious chaste wife is said to be a form of ShriLakshmi only, she was married to ShriVishnu.
    Then, she became the daughter of Bhrigu and Khyati and married ShriVishnu.
    When Bhagwan came as ShriNarsimha, she came as Chenchu Lakshmi. When Bhagwan became Vaaman, she was called Padma.
    When he was the upholder of Dharma, ShriRaam, she was the purest and the most pious Devi Seetha.
    When he came as the gem of Yadukul, (dynasty of King Yadu) and the child of Braj Bhumi, she descended as Rukmini Ma. Nila Devi became Ma Nappinai or Ma Nagnjeeti and Bhudevi became Ma Satyabhama. Here, Bhudevi and Niladevi are seen as forms of Lakshmi as we discussed previously (Antaryamitva and qualities).

    Explanation:
    As the Primordial Couple ShriLakshmiNarayana got married, I have further described, the qualities of ShriLakshmi with respect to ShriVishnu being her husband. Both have an equal status, being eternal and all pervading.
    Both are the object of worship by the Vedas, Puranas, and Itihaas too.

    ShriParashar said: Oh Best Among Twice Born Ones! The one who never leaves the side of Vishnu, the Mother of the World, ShriLakshmi is eternal and all pervading just like him.

    To say in brief, in Devatas, Manushyas and all entities, the Masculine Form is that of Vishnu and the Feminine is that of Lakshmi (Antaryamitva), there is nothing that exists besides these too.

    Explanation:
    Here the position of Lakshmi is explained being VishnuPatni- the wife of ShriVishnu and her glories apart from that as well.
    Being the empress, and the origin of all Goddesses, ShriLakshmi is worshipped by Shiv Ji, Brahma Dev etc. They all rever her! She is the friend of Parvati and Saraswati Devis who always worship her and adore her, as she is their origin. She is the great MahaLakshmi!
    She always dons a form alike that of Bhagwaan Narayana, as per his desire and mindset. This is also described in greater detail in the Book 1 Chapter 8 and 9 of ShriVishnu Puran (it's so sweet to read ��)
    When Bhagwan dons a human form, she too becomes a human wife according to him. Even in Matsya, Kurma avatars she accompanied him, always in different forms.
    Bhagwaan and Devi are never separate. They are like Sun and Sunlight, Flower and Fragrance.
    She is always presiding on the chest of ShriVishnu. The ShriVatsa mark on his chest marks her presence on it eternally and forever...��

    Explanation:

    After knowing about her beauty and chief characteristics, everyone wished to have her- The Matchless Goddess. All the apsaras (celestial nymphs) that arose from the Ocean were not even a spark of Lakshmi's beauty.
    But to be Lakshmi Pati- The Husband of Lakshmi, only a person who is equal to her was eligible. Only Parmatma ShrimanNarayana could be her bridegroom. In ShrimadBhagwatam, Gopikas describe him as Shriyah Ekant Vallabham- The Sole Husband of ShriLakshmi.
    In fact Lakshmi is the defining feature of Parmatma. Vedas call the one Parmatma, who is the 'Husband of Lakshmi' and none else.
    When her marriage was being conducted, Lakshmi looked around for her suitable bridegroom (of course she knew, it was just a leela). Everyone whether Asuras or Devatas had one or the other taints, none was completely pure.
    Then Lakshmi's eyes fell on Vishnu, who was the blemishless Parmatma, the Antaryami of All, the Abode of Shudh Satva, whom sins never touch. ShriVishnu who is always ShriyahPati got enchanted by the beauty of her beloved wife. And Lakshmi too got enchanted by the matchless form of ShriHari.
    Hence, she garlanded Vishnu as her Husband, and this was their another leela of being united.
    In Vishnu Puran, Rishi Matreya asks Rishi Parashar, that if Lakshmi arose from Ocean and has a birth then how come, she be eternal like Vishnu?
    To which Rishi Parashar replies, that Lakshmi is Vishnu's eternal companion. And both of them are always engaged in their infinite pastimes and keep enjoying their union in each leela.
    The Samudra Manthan was another of their leela to get united and enjoy their love pastimes.
    Lakshmi is all pervading alike Vishnu, she always resides on his chest as the Shrivatsa Mark. When he becomes Raam, She becomes Seetha, when he is Krishna, she becomes Rukmini. They are never separate.

    When I was a child, I used to watch Barbie movies. One of those was 'Barbie and the Princess Charm School'. Also, I had a special attraction to Rosetta, one of Tinker Bell Series Fairies and wanted to become such a fairy.
    In the movie of Charm School, each Princess was assisted by a personal Fairy Assistant, who follows her and serves her. She arranges her make up, hair etc. I have attached a little image of the main Princess with her Fairy Assistant.
    I wish to be such a fairy for my Lakshmi Ma!!! Hence, I made a little drawing depicting this dream, I am the fairy in Ma Lakshmi's hand! (I know am not good at drawing but I had to draw this��)❤❤❤��
    Well why, would I child prefer to be a Doctor/Engineer/Lawyer, when she can be the Fairy of her Mother!!!

    So, ShriHari as the little cowherd boy Krishna once did a mischief like this: Once in Gokul, Krishna teased a little Gopika, she was a bit annoyed, Krishna sensed this, and said okay close your eyes, there's a surprise for you! She did so, and Krishna took a pebble and made her moustache through it. All the children laughed at her and Krishna ran away. ��
    So, this is terrible, such a mischievous person. I thought and thought and thought, what if he does that with me too???
    So, I planned when Kannan will be sleeping on Sheshnaag along with Ma Lakshmi, in his four month sleep, I shall make his moustache by a pebble ��

    Narayan continued his frown
    While Shri Bhu Neela bursted
    In a laughter in unison
    'What!!!??' Narayan exclaimed,
    With a face full of surprise,
    While Sridevi said, 'Oh Dev
    This is your sweet prize!
    Didn't you do that too
    To a gopi in Vrindavan,
    As your child hood prank
    As playful little Kannan??
    Now she learnt from you, Oh Madhav,
    So, she wishes to play with you
    In the same way for fun,
    Won't you reciprocate that too?'
    Now ShriVishnu blushed,
    Remembering his sweet feat
    'Oh' he exclaimed and laughed,
    'How can I forget that?'
    I shall have to reciprocate,
    And he laughed while perplexed
    But never ceased to love
    His daughter, whom he blessed.

    Who is Kanna?
    The one who listens to us, in the same way we wish to convey, even if we say it or not. Kanha word is derived from the word Kanna.

    Who is Vattpatrashayi?
    The one who rests on Banyan leaf, at the time of desolution (Pralaya), is called Vattpatra (banyan leaf) shayi (who rests). This is the form called Narayana.

    Why He licks the thumb of his own feet?
    He does so because our Lord, whose Lotus Feet are eulogised by Vedas, Highest Sages and His Devotees, their nectar is unknown to him! He wishes to taste his own sweetness! Oh Madhav! And also, when he is performing his Yognidra on Sheshnaag, then too Bhagwaan, contemplates on his own sweet form! ������

    Let's today contemplate on the various leelas of Bhagwaan Krishna and drown ourselves in the ocean of his auspicious qualities.

    So, the next Bhaav I pick is Madhurya, the cherished Bhaav which compels even the great sages and men to turn their get up to a women just to cherish ShriBhagwaan as their lover. When Krishna did the Raasleela, all Devatas from Indra to Mahadeva, the husband of Mata Gauri, came as Gopikas to do Raas with Krishna.
    Among the Azhwars, Nammazhwar turned into Parangkush Nayaki and other Azhwars too, sorry for my lack of knowledge there are many many instance like this, so many to name.
    Andal or Godha Mayya- She was situated in Madhurya Bhaav, Completely surrendered to her Narayana, Her Kanna.
    Her story in brief: She is BhuDevi herself. Periyazhwar who used to do garland seva for Bhagwaan found her in his flower garden and took her as his daughter, he raised her up in the devotion to Kanna or Krishna ❤
    She used to wear the garlands by Periyazhwar first before they went to Narayana, and imagine herself as his beloved bride, one day her Father found this out. So, without saying a word to her, he made another garland for Lord, a fresh one. But the garland fell from the Murthi, meaning the Lord didn't accept it. In his dream, the Lord informed Periyazhwar that he shall wear only those garlands which were first offered to Godha�� And also, the Lord, called upon the King of the place in his dream, that prepare for Godha to get her married to me, in the RangNath Temple.
    The next day, with pomp and show, Godha was brought to the temple and there she merged into the idol of RangNath after being married to him at the age of sixteen!
    Such was her devotion, her two texts are Thirupavvai and Nachiyar Thirumozhi �� While Vedant Deshikan extols her greatness in ShriGodha Stuti by him. ����

    I am sharing a verse from Nachiyar Thirumozhi, when Godha Ma tells a cuckoo to warble sweetly to call Hari who is separated from her, while the cuckoo has her love mate with her, Godha Ma doesn't, therefore she calls for that cuckoo.

    Oh cuckoo! My sorrow has infiltrated even into my bones (and has caused them to melt). My eyes that can be compared to deep piercing spears (vEl) are not able to even close. I have been struggling in the ocean of sorrowful separation for a long, long time because I do not
    have the help of SrI vaikuNTha nAthan who will serve like a boat for me to cross the ocean of sorrow. Oh cuckoo! You know well the grief that arises from separation from the beloved one! Please do warble sweetly so that kaNNan who has a body that shines likes gold, who is the embodiment of dharma and who has garuDa flag, will come to me!

    Now my poem: I am not at all situated in Madhurya bhaav ���� forgive me, my friends for this, but yes, one thing is true, when it comes to a Lover or a Husband I won't choose a man other than My ShrimanNarayana! ����
    Moreover, Madhurya requires the blessings of Ma ShriLakshmi and I am a person without any such good attributes, but yes since I am attached to them, My LakshmiNarayana shall never forsake me! ��
