Something silver
Time has done wonders to me,
Healed my wounds, faded my scars,
And gave me wisdom
Enough to reach the stars.
And at times I wondered
If time leaves its mark,
Something visible unlike memories,
Something thats stands stark.
So when I carved myself goddess
From the marble that life is,
The dust that silvered my strands
Is where memories and time freeze.

Take me to the silver shrine
where you hide all of your secrets and stories
the place where you hide your pain
perhaps in that place I'll find the mountain holding the tree of life
and with life in my hands
your warm forgiveness will finally come
and melt the frost of my soul
you will remember that we are twin children born of the same moon and stars, for the same purpose, the same fate
deeply held roots from the tree of life have forever entwined our fates together
even though we never meet and never speak
lacking blood, lacking linage
so cloudless the night sky where I build cairns of regret and despair
waiting in eternal twilight for that forgiveness that you still quietly hide
Safe inside your silver shrine.

Rescues the world from the sun’s clutches.
As the moon shines on the desert
Hear the silver camels’ tinkling silver bells,
The stars shine for her from dusk to dawn
The night fills up with sweet jasmine smells .
The taste of sweet nectarines she brings
All basking in her silvery glow ,
The taste of solitude she fulfills —
One of longing and loneliness and woe .
Silent and illuminated from within
She travels forever looking for her beau ,
Quietly she lights up and reigns over the night
The dawn silently but surely in tow

To break bread with the Earl
They were made to eat on silverware that
Had been polished till it shone like pearls.
Uncomfortably they twitched while
Seated on elegant silver chairs
Unaware of what to do with the several
Pieces of shining silverware .
Realising they were uneasy the Earl asked
The forks and plates to be removed
And proceeded to dip hunks of bread
In the spicy broth and soup .
The boots ate to their hearts content
And thanked the Earl for the meal .
They were happy he had not embarrassed them
By making their lack of elegance a big deal.
“Your contribution is far too great for this to
Be of any consequence at all,” he smiled and said
“Your lives are far too precious than
Any number of loaves of bread “.
They said, “We thought why would an Earl
Care about a couple of hired guns “
“We are glad you’ve been so considerate
This was a lot of fun “.

Losing our own Luster,
While we attempt to Outshine others.
Such a Shame!
Always trying to fit into a Frame.

Love is all we need
Sometimes the trouble doesn't seem troubling
And soon we know that the life itself is controlling
With the right person and right time
You notice your messy crap of poem starts to rhyme
The broken crayons still colours
And melancholy beats of music changes with a lover
In scary hurting spot, we find solace
And the blood taking needle seems harmless
The soft violin and piano sounds blend
Shinny gleaming silver ring with lifelong friend
That sweet happy smile on that beautiful face
even the stone hearted person can fall in love on that magical place....21 0 1
Silver Lining
When I was 17, I was barred from entering a temple:
The priest preached that I was impure and steadfast to make an example -
Of how a sweet little girl becomes polluted
for 3 days every month because she menstruates !
My mother knew my cycle and thus she prohibited,
ordering me to stay at home, cause of the society she was afraid,
But the young blood of 21st century was boiling with rage
Blood from my body can't corrupt me because guess what - the Goddess also menstruates !
So I went to the temple, wearing white and red
Was stopped at the gate because apparently I was tainting the sacred
But I didn't bow down in front of the scowling of their eyes
My heart beat faster in anxiety yet I stood up to men's might
I demanded my entry, asking why won't they let me in ?
Everyone whispered around but no one said anything.
" Because I'm in my period ?", loudly I asked
" Are you scared of my womanhood or of my blood ?"
" But a woman can not worship - it's what the sacred text says",
" a woman is adulterated when she menstruates "
" Then you must change your text, it holds no value in modern times ",
I said, " A lady spewing blood is also divine "
" We take pride in our texts and the value it demonstrates "
" You are not welcome here, Get out ", The priest said !
I only said, " NO ! ", at patriarchy I gazed
shattering age old traditions and thus I progressed
The priest took a back step sensing my intend
when other women spoke with me, he wanted to have an agreement
" You can not enter the main room but you can sit outside "
" Thank You ", I only said, thinking - one step at a time !
Dark clouds rounded the sky, devouring the Sun.
Forecasting a frightening storm, danger at every turn
One day, the clouds will disappear and again the Sun shall be smiling
But till then we would have to just search for the silver lining
