    Answer :- Hare Krsna.

The fundamental unity of Islam and Hindusim is their beliefs in God and the act of surrender which is urgently required in the two religions of the world.

Let's see the reasoning behind my statements using Quran and Bhagavad Gita and how both mainstream books are very much inter- related :-)

    Quran 4.134 states that -

Whoever desires, by his deeds, the reward of this world, then God has the reward of this world and of the Hereafter, for the one who wants it, and no one else has it, so why do any of you demand the lower [reward]? Why do you not seek the higher one, by devoting yourself sincerely to Him, since what [reward] he seeks can only be found with Him; God is ever Hearer, Seer.

Let's see what Bhagavad Gita says :-)

Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear. (Bhagavad Gita 18.66)

Therefore, both religions are very clear with their ultimate objective which is to surrender to God as soon as possible and the major texts of both the religions support this fact.

    Now, let's see further :-)

    Quran 5.60 says :-)

Say: "Shall I tell you of a case the worst of all for recompense with God? Those whom God has cursed (excluded from His mercy), and whom He has utterly condemned, and some of whom He turned into apes, and swine, and servants of false powers (who institute patterns of rule in defiance of God) – they are worse situated and further astray from the right, even way."

Bhagavad Gita also says the same thing :-?

They say that this world is unreal, with no foundation, no God in control. They say it is produced of sex desire and has no cause other than lust. (Bhagavad Gita 16.8)

Bhagavad Gita and Quran both condemn Atheist person for their theories which are pretty impractical also. Quran say those people are like ape and Gita says that those people think that world is produced only because of sex desire. So, both support the statement that being atheist is like being an animal.

Quran and Bhagavad Gita further supports four regulative principles as

No Intoxications and No Gambling :-)

Satan seeketh only to cast among you enmity and hatred by means of strong drink and games of chance, and to turn you from remembrance of Allah and from (His) worship. Will ye then have done? (Quran 5.91)

Those who are demoniac do not know what is to be done and what is not to be done. Neither cleanliness nor proper behavior nor truth is found in them. (Bhagavad Gita 16.7)

Bhagavad Gita have clearly said that demonical people don't what what needs to be done and what not, so they continue to do activities like intoxications, gambling, and neither cleanliness and nor proper behaviour and nor truth is found in them, which is further confirmed by Quran.

    No Illicit Sex :-)

And come not near unto adultery) secretly or openly. (Lo! it is an abomination) a transgression and sin (and an evil way) to choose. (Quran 17.32)

Of weapons I am the thunderbolt; among cows I am the surabhi. Of causes for procreation I am Kandarpa, the god of love, and of serpents I am Vāsuki. (Bhagavad Gita 10.28)

While Bhagavad Gita have instructed to do sex only for sake of procreation in the Aasram of Marriage, Quran have also instructed that adultery is a sin. Both are very clear in restricting the sin which arises out of having relationship outside marriage which pollute both their conciousness and conciousness of society.

    No meat eating :-)

“There is not an animal on earth, nor a bird that flies on its wings – but they are communities like you.” (Qur’an, 6:38)

In the Muwatta, it is mentioned that Umar Ibn Al- Khattab said about meat :

Beware of meat because it is addictive as khamr (wine)

So traditionally Muslims were semi-vegetarians. The Prophet was, I mean, technically, the Prophet (SAWS) was in that category. He was not a meat-eater. Most of his meals did not have meat in them. (Hamza Yusuf)

And in Bhagavad Gita, Krsna clearly said what food he only accepts as offerings :-)

If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water, I will accept it. (Bhagavad Gita 9.26)

Foods dear to those in the mode of goodness increase the duration of life, purify one’s existence and give strength, health, happiness and satisfaction. Such foods are juicy, fatty, wholesome, and pleasing to the heart. (Bhagavad Gita 17.8)

Thus, both Bhagavad Gita and Quran are of opinion that humans most preferably should eat only foods offered to Lord which are vegetarian in nature. And that food is called food in the mode of goodness and not like in passion or ignorance.

These 4 principles are based on 4 pillars of dharma - austerity, cleanliness, truthfulness and compassion. This is a must-follow for a sincere spiritual seeker. And thus, it is advisable to not to engaged in intoxications, gambling, illict sex and meat eating.

Further, both Quran and Bhagavad Go are of opinion that we humans are not the body but soul.

O humanity! Be mindful of your Lord Who created you from a single soul, and from it He created its mate, and through both He spread countless men and women. And be mindful of Allah—in Whose Name you appeal to one another—and ˹honour˺ family ties. Surely Allah is ever Watchful over you. (Quran 4.1)

As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change. (Bhagavad Gita 2.13)

Having said the real identities of human beings both Quran And Bhagavad Gita lays out instructions which should be used to worship God :-)

Allah has the Most Beautiful Names. So call upon Him by them, and keep away from those who abuse His Names. They will be punished for what they used to do. (Quran 7.180)

Of the great sages I am Bhrgu; of vibrations I am the transcendental om. Of sacrifices I am the chanting of the holy names [japa], and of immovable things I am the Himalayas. (Bhagvad Gita 10.25)

Always think of Me, become My devotee, worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend. (Bhagavad Gita 18.65)

Thus, both Quran and Bhagavad Gita are of opinion that Chanting of Holy Names is a sureshot way to achieve God and get his pure love.

Having said all of this, you will come to know that every religion in world only teaches love of God and they all advise you to surrender to God as soon as possible by following all the commandments which I have tried to list above using the holy scriptures.

I hope you would like it.

    Thanks for the patient reading.

Chant Lord's Holy Names and be Happy

    Q. What is the fundamental unity of Islam and Hinduism ?

Answer :- One can either be enlightened or entangled in material existence, suffering birth, death, old age, and disease lifetime after lifetime after life time. Such an entangled person is called a “conditioned soul.” When one truly becomes enlightened he returns to the spiritual world never to suffer again in the cycle of birth, death, old age, and disease. Those who are pseudo enlightened remain entangled in material existence. Only who are genuinely enlightened are liberated. Answer :- Once one has attained the spiritual platform, it is material service that actually becomes disgusting. For example, if one chants Hare Krsna throughout his life, he will not grow tired of the names, but if one chants a material name over and over, he will soon become disgusted. The more one chants the names of Krsna, the more he becomes attached. Thus service by sravanam and kirtanam, hearing and chanting about Krsna, is the beginning. The next process is smaranam -- always remembering Krsna. When one is perfect in chanting and hearing, he will always remember Krsna. In this third stage, he becomes the greatest yogi.

    Q. How one can become a greatest Yogi ?

  • thesoullover 66w

In this world everyone is running after the external pleasures which are experienced in the interaction between the senses and the objects of the senses. The difficulty with this sensual pleasure is that it does not last. It is very pleasing in the beginning, but it turns to bitter poison in the end. For example, I take my body to be a wonderful facility for enjoyment, but eventually it becomes old, diseased, quite miserable, and then dies. In other words it is not able to give me permanent happiness. However when one takes to transcendental knowledge of the spirit-soul and its eternal loving servitor relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead and becomes practically situated in that knowledge, he enters into a realm of happiness which is unassailable. It can never be broken or interrupted. This science is learned and imbibed from someone else who is already a master of this science. Such a master is known as a bona fide guru or a spiritual master. If we can find such a bona fide spiritual master and follow his instructions with all sincerity, in due course we will become perfectly fixed in pure Krishna consciousness and eternally relish the pleasure within. Actually it is not necessary for us to try to find a guru. As soon as we are serious to awaken our spiritual life the Supreme Lord, Who is seated within our hearts, will manifest externally before us in the form of the bona fide spiritual master.
