if I knew how to hold you, I would take day trips to different libraries in other towns just to walk the stacks and seek out the scent of a good book.
one that has been touched by other hands, read by other eyes, held by other hearts.
i'd listen to podcasts, roll out my yoga mat for practice, listen to new music every day and hand write letters to people I love. I'd pray. stop coloring my hair. treat myself to the good cheese.

I open my arms to embrace the sun,

When I was a child,
I was taught poetry wasn't mild,
It was deep as the sea,
And it seemed truly unachievable for me.
I was taught poetry had to rhyme,
Every single line, every single time.
So poetry seemed out of my reach,
Like chasing a seagull down a beach,
Jumping ever so slightly away,
Or soaring into the sunny day.

Rain to Stop
I want the rain to stop.
For the people to enjoy sunny days.
For the people to have their homes intact.
Most of all, for me to play badminton.
This might be selfish, but still...

As the warm sun's heat touches me
I feel it's golden rays create a sunshine 'sation
Giving me a happy thought to go with me
Pulling &Teasing my worse days out into the ocean
I take a warm cup of the ocean made by the sun in my mouth
Drink in its nutrients as they flow out of me
Into the breathing soil
Home to creatures living
Alive because of their biosymbiotic relationship
With the warm golden
Brilliant energy creator
I trod over to a meadow
Filled with sweet
All different fragances
Some raspberry
Some peach
Some strong
Some barely there
But one has a warm feeling
And makes me smile
It makes me think of
The warm days of summer
Hot days sitting in a hammock
Feet stretched out with a book
I run skip i jump
Until i stump and clump
I feel something small but
Bumpy and furry on top
I wake up from the dream
Remembering not the cold fright
But a golden ball of energy
Breathing warm life into that Amarillo
I mean armadillo
Days of summer past

A lonesome piece of you
I'd borrowed once
In the cardiac cabinet
It stayed for a while
As sunny breeze blew
And across winter hall
Rain drenched it so
With tears of Baltimore
I don't think you will
Trust with me with any

A glimpse of you but

But I made the flocks fly,
So I watched in awe,
