मैं भुल गयी थी कुछ पल के लिए के जिसे मैं दो तरफां मोहब्बत समझ रही थी वो एक तरफां प्यार है।
मैं भुल गयी थी कुछ पल के लिए के जिनसे से इश्क किया हो तो उनसे कभी मांगना नहीं पड़ता।

Dear Western society, you said that I don't belong here
That I am the virus you so fear
Yet you love nothing more than to wonder through our Chinatowns and consume our food that was once so scarce
When our ancestors arrived, they envied you
For your country is privileged
They didn't realise that they would have to walk through the barrel of a gun hoping to make it out alive.
So dear Western society, does eating our food make your throat burn?
Does it pulse through your white fragile skin like an open wound?
Do you walk through our Chinatowns and realise the concrete you are standing in is of the bones of my ancestors?
Do you see the stories of a mother's plea for her child carved into the wooden arches?
Do you see aunty and uncle cramped on their grandchild's stool, peeling vegetables with their hands that tell stories of sacrifices?
You enjoy our food but our culture isn't appetising enough for you.
These stories you will never know because the only thing you see is the glossy images of Chicken Chow Mein and Kung Po Chicken
Which by the way, aren't even Chinese dishes!
They were created to fit into a mold of your Westernised palette
Add salt and pepper but don't make it spicy.
If Chinatown was a hierarchy
We would be trembling under your Buckingham Palace
Your white monarchy is your pride
Oh, God save your Queen
But forget about the cultures you eliminated
To disseminate your values and beliefs into our bloodstreams
So I will continue to walk tall as a proud Chinese, British
Because contrary to popular beliefs,
Covid does not come from a genetic line of Asian descendants
Corona is... I mean Kung Flu
I mean Chinese virus, I mean
What do you mean, Mr. Ex President?
Ohhhh, you mean you will look after your Asian American community yet marginalise them and encourage white America to speak fluent racism
This virus doesn't just infect Chinese people
Our bodies aren't more sensitive than yours at becoming an active case
The only sensitivity we have is to your racist tongue
So dear Western society, you tried to assimilate us into your majority,
But we have fought with Gold to be here
We are stronger than the skin of a banana
But we will wait till the inside starts to bruise before we eat
Because we will not assimilate to your whiteness
The only virus we fear is the biggest virus of hate

#misunderstoodWords are eternal. They have a power all their own. A cruel and demeaning word/sentence will enter our mind as a virus which eats away at our ability to process self love. The damage is horrific. It changes how we define ourselves. It changes how we see and feel love. It will confuse the mind and paints a picture of distrust. It is painful. It causes us to bleed internally and externally. The scars are deep rooted. The pain can be excruciating.
Choose your words wisely. It can save or destroy a heart.

Venom
We feel the burn of your venom. .
Throwing out destruction,
You've no mind for what this does.
How can one use words so carelessly?
They are weapons on your tongue.
They can tear apart the strongest.
No matter if one begs for mercy
You just have to have your "say".
And once you've broken every heart
And the wounds are nice and deep
You finally say "I'm leaving"
We are broken, angry, sad.
Exhausted from the fight.
You see it every time.
No problem... it's all okay
Because for the millionth time you're "sorry" .

I like words. Both the spoken and unspoken. Both the written and unwritten. Those that linger on the lips of lovers. Those that sparkle in the eyes of a child learning how to talk. And those that stream down with the tears of those who have loved and lost.

When destruction unfolds, let it be told

The unseen one- the home she dwelled in was so very far away from this land of plastic hearts and styrofoam souls. The unalloyed life, which is full of warmth, luminance and content souls. The side only which endless love could reveal.
