Watch
I remember how I would sit up in my tower letting life tick away.
I would watch as others lived free while I was too scared to do anything but sit and stay.
Just like Rapunzel tucked away from the world, I wanted so desperately to be free.
But my fears surrounded me like chains so I could never touch, only look and see.
I would watch the moon wax and wane, so long in this prison I convinced myself was home.
It wasn't until I called upon my heavenly father, the breaker of chains, that from this pit I was finally thrown.
Here on the ground I have a new perspective now.
I realize I should have focused my eyes above instead of what I saw when I glanced down.
When my eyes are set upon you oh God, no risk is ever too dangerous.
For if you are always with us, then who could possibly stand against us?
So wrap me in your perfect peace as I go to speak your truth and word.
No longer watching from afar, but an ambassador of hope for those who have not heard.
