Sometimes it is much easier to love someone than to allow someone to love us.
Having someone love us often puts us at a disadvantage.
We must then allow that person do something for us. We become dependent on that person. We are in some way "beholden" to that person.
It is a prideful position to be in. Allowing ourselves to be loved means believing that we deserve to be loved.
It is essential that we learn to allow God to love us. So many people miss that crucial point.
They don't believe they are deserving of God's love, or of His mercy.
They believe they must somehow "earn" His love.
It is difficult for them to accept His gift of grace. It is faith alone that allows us to believe that, even if we are undeserving, God loves us anyway.
When we can accept this undeserved gift of love, then we can truly learn how to love.

I wished for a life from a child. Lack of love and feeling unwanted and inferior especially to my sisters. I wasn't mad or bitter, to me they were just better and that was okay to me. I did something and didn't quite know what it was I did The pain I had was based on rejection, and all forms of abuse. I just had a lttle imaginary child that I would make promises after promises to. To love and to protect and to always let her know she is loved. Moving to the place of freedom and healing, I see the difference in me. I see the beauty in my scars and the loyalty that runs through my veins. Through it all, it brought me to my knees. I learned how to heal, I learned how to love, and most of all, I FOUND THE SOURCE OF LOVE. I found what I've been crying for my entire life running and living in me. Instead of inferior, I learned the art of humbleness. I have a heart to give love to strangers, I have a heart to accept others as I accept myself. I have a heart that sees others cry and feel the pain as my own. I see the gifts that shined through me and the Strength the upheld me, and my bad became my good. I love.
