Blind we are even though the vision is clear,

I remember, a few years back
Laughing and smiling as we played in the ocean
Holding hands,
You sneaking glances at me when am not looking
Me sneaking glances at you when you are not looking
Those were good times
It was romance straight from a harlequin novel
I wished to stay with you forever
And for a moment I actually believed we would
With love there is always an evil element lurking in the shadow
I should have known
........
Disaster stuck, your heart was broken
Breaking mine in the process
Years passed by like a never ending stream
I grew up
You grew up
Hearts mended and healed
Or so we thought
You mended your heart but you locked the world out
Including me
Me thinking and hoping my heart had healed from you
Just one look tore open the scars you inflicted
I begun bleeding again
And this affected your heart too
I discovered neither of us healed
Even after all this time
So what we did next was only logical
We tried to mend each other
But we only revived hurt
You from your ordeal with death
Me from my ordeal of your rejection
I don’t know why I cannot let you go
I still hurt just thinking of you
Seeing you makes me mad at myself
Because I want you back
If I can put it figuratively
You wrote on me
Me enjoying every stroke on the surface of my heart

You flung me into the raging monstrous ocean
And you sent me drifting in the harsh never-ending waters
I hated you at first then I tried to understand
I still loved you even after I was knocked over and over by the ocean
But at the point of fading away
At the point of complete surrender to death
A loving man found me
Released me from my prison
And he just held me
He held me in his arms tightly never letting me go
Noticing the writings
Your writings
He read what you wrote
He went silent
Just reading and rereading
He then began writing on me
Writing on the words you wrote first
And your words, with time, started to loose meaning
His words
His writing
Changed the destiny written for me by you
He saved me
He healed me
Showed me love once again
Showed me peace of mind, heart and soul
But then you show up once again
To claim me
And stupid stupid me
I come to you
Only I am slapped with rejection once again

Now this game between me and you has to end
I want to move on
I deserve to move on
I have held on to this life strap that you call love for long enough
It’s time to say NO to you
And YES to someone who deserves me
To explore the golden opportunity in front of me
I need this golden opportunity
It’s my chance to not only see but to have and to hold happiness
And am going to take it
Even if I have to let you go, it’s a price am willing to pay
After all, you let me go first.
