    Dear Natalie,

Congratulations on graduation high school-you achieved a lot. You still like to read and write. Maybe in 30 years from now, you'll be a published author. Who knows? You might be working in an office.

    Good luck to you,

    Nat.

    Illusion by Music

    You appear in my stories,
    In my poetry,
    Especially in the plot
    With each note
    That reaches my ears.
But as soon as the music ends,
    You disappear from my mind,
    And from the illusion.

    Chapt 8 Moki's Story

Moki watched as Nicholas sipped his coffee. Olav looked paler than usual, but that was no surprise. Moki doubted if he fed before coming here.

‘Are you alright, Olav?’ Simone asked. ‘You look…paler than usual.’

    Olav smiled wanly. ‘I’m fine.’

Nicholas looked at him and shook his head. ‘No, you’re not. I can give you a sample after we're done talking. Is that alright?’

Olav frowned at him. ‘How did you know what was wrong with me?’

‘Because I’m Simone's caretaker, or was, and I always know when a vampire needs to feed.’

    Simone nodded.

Olav hesitated before saying, ‘Very well. I understand Kang had assaulted you last night?’

Simone hesitated for a long moment before saying, ‘Yes.’ A look of anger came across her face. ‘In fact, I’m sure he would have killed me if I hadn’t overpowered him.’

Nicholas stared at her in shock, but was grateful that she did so. ‘I’m guessing he hadn’t fed before he attacked you?’

Simone shook her head. ‘I don’t know if he did or not. But I did before I stepped out.’

‘Good.’ Nicholas said this word with a sigh of relief. He turned to Moki, and then turned to Olav, who had grown even more pale. ‘Okay, that’s it, you’re coming with me.’

‘I’m…fine,’ With that, Olav rolled his eyes and passed out onto the ground.

Olav moaned softly when he felt someone brushing his hair back. Taking a deep breath, he moaned, ‘Rachel.’

He saw her smile at him. ‘Hey, how are you feeling?’

He sighed. ‘Dizzy, but I’ll be fine.’ He frowned when he saw her bandaged arm. ‘What happened?’

Rachel had a guilty look on her face when she admitted that she gave him her blood.

Olav stared at her in bewilderment. ‘But…that can’t be safe!’

‘Only if you bit me, and you didn’t do that. You scared us! You should have fed before you came here!’ Rachel shook her head. ‘Why didn’t you at least tell me you needed to feed?’

Olav sighed. ‘I wasn’t hungry when we left.’

‘Thank God Nicholas is a doctor and knows what to do with these things.’

‘Yes,’ Olav said as he sat up, feeling better already. ‘I’m glad he knew what to do in this situation.’

Olav was getting dressed when Nicholas entered the room.

I was but a raging wench,
    Who trusted few people;
    Angry at many, bitter attacks.

    Now I'm more careful,
    With who I associate;
As I’m better with who I discuss.
