सहरा की धूल को घिसता रहा तिरे चिरागों के चेहरों पर,
रहमत होगी मिरी प्यास को दिखा दे गर समंदर बनाकर।

है इति'हास गवाह मिटा'या है हरारत ने सिकंदर बनाकर।
इशरत-ए-कतरा तक लुटा दिया है तिरी जहमतों पर मैंने,
तुम कहते हो निग़ाहों से दिखाऊँ मैं चश्म-ए-तर बनाकर।
को'ई दर्द-ए-दिल की हवा को लिए कहां तक गया होगा,
कमबख्त मैं अपने ही पयाम पढता हूँ नामा-बर बनाकर।
सीलन उतर गयी है मिरे जिहन के दीवार-ओ-दर में अब,
मैं कैसे जलाऊंगा जिया, अब इस मकाँ को घर बनाकर।
