Conflict
We gather small dreams
in our share of sky
The dreams, that remained unfinished
start walking on the unknown path
towards an alley of darkness
Peeping through the afternoon window
We had gathered some dreams
We spread those on the bed
And sort them
Some of those play in the childhood
Others touch the skin and spread across the veins and bones
We hide the midlife dreams beneath pillows
Through the afternoon, they stay still
And, become fussy at night
The distance between sleep and dream
dream and dreamlessness
shrinks with the age
Dream is not anymore different from real
The hazy acts of past
knock at the doorstep

We are like that unfinished sculpture
carving ourselves
slowly
shaping up an effigy
Or, perhaps like a poem
rewritten again and again
I know you saying
You don't want to be like a flower
to spread that momentary fragrance and joy
We have the wish of an artist
Or sculptor
Or perhaps a poet
purpetually in the process of making
a painting
or a sculpture
or perhaps
a poem
Now that you are not there
I have randomly spread the colors,
half inked papers
Through the dusty alley
I look at the blue skyline
about to turn black
like an unfinished painting
