Dilemma
She said "she liked me",
But, I was not overjoyed but overcome.
It is true that I like her as it is true that I do not "like" her
For I see our friendship as immaculate
To be spared the uncertainty that is the vicissitude of relationships.
But how to tell her
Without any noses being out of joint?

Life
Life is a traitorous scoundrel
A fleeting romance
A distant memory

Children are Cruel
Children are Cruel
Mindlessly, uncontrollably cruel
Prone to the worst tantrums
Like tyrants commanding obedience
With tempestuous tears that coerces acquiescence.
Jealousy, brutal jealousy.
Spiteful brutes that manage to consume you and yet heal your soul.

The Enemy
The body is the spirit's mortal enemy.
Twins entwined in perfect combat to claim opposite desires.
and while the spirit aspires,
the body finds bliss in wondrous aimlessness
The spirit knows the stakes of the battle
Unbound unlike the body to fetters of mortality

Rob ran a ridiculously rapid race
Fueled with fanatical ferocity and fastidious pace.
For a prize laced with perfidy and parochial relish.
To be left to perish rather than cherished

It is indeed apt that he stooped to conquer
An uncomely fellow was he, that they paid him no heed
remarkably supine, without sonorous words or a notable deed
He was free bait to the mocker.
And his rise was an envious surprise
Met with furious glares with not a disguise
and loud whispers of subtle decries
But he was above them and immune from their lies
And fortified his home with the few on whom he relied.

Her face was hidden from my mind's perception
Yet her body remained ever so clear
My foremost abuser
She waved her whip to command her every desire
My innocence desecrated.
My mind hurls curses at her but my spirit resists
But her name is like a mist upon my lips
No assuredness in its pronouncement
Yet I am sure that it was her and yet unsure
And her face screams while her name slithers in skulking shadows
Forever doubtful

I dream dreams of a careless ending
Consequences of my putrid satisfaction
My dalliance with madness
I had forgotten my status
A sole kayaker
Rowing along the sea of indifference

We danced carelessly in the rain
Children of the Magnificent One
Because as pariahs, it was all we knew.
Our dance was the toast of mavericks
But the conformity of our minds was evidence of our resilience
It was the tale of an everlasting rhythm.

From our white rose grew perfect thorns
And our punctured fingers painted morose tales of a twisted ending
Petal by petal, the rose donned its true colours
A bloody red that saw no returning.
