The pain of loneliness
Stretches its neck
Peeking softly
From the corners
Of my eyes;
Most days, I toss it back
In the ocean of pain
Lashing in my heart.
Sometimes, it falls
like a fugitive breaking free!

The infernal mortal flesh
Barely more than stretchy mesh
A cramped cell within a prison
A poorly thought decision
Incredibly useless and mundane
Irrefutably clinically insane
An armor against ourselves
Empty set of bookshelves
A ragged array of ornaments
Suit in all life's tournaments
Something for external protection
A compass for a certain direction
Shell of defense and built by past tense
Not good for anything but wash and rinse
Dry and cracked by space and time
Not what you expected but covered in grime
It's weathered, scarred and dirty
Reaches its peak around thirty
What a sad, weak existence
Brought about for resistance

Nervous Wreck
Riding into the unknown,
With a pocket full of fears,
Tears steaming up the windows,
Shaking hands shifting the gears.
Driving to the lake side,
Sinking with the evening sun,
Why do journeys have to end,
Should they have even begun?
Crying into three ply tissues,
With a heart broken in two,
One of many times like this,
But they meant nothing to you.
Afraid to turn this car around,
For what might wait for me at home.
No wonder I'm a nervous wreck,
With a need to always roam.
