Is there not anyone other like you?

Or maybe I am luckily unlucky enough,
To find you once only to let go, again?

When my heart began beating for you,
    You stopped breathing for me.

    Unseen

    In finding meaning,
    Of my every action,
In the eyes of the world,
    I somewhere overlooked,
    What these happenings,
    Even meant for me.

    Remember The Night

When we're allowed to stay up late,
On an auspicious new moon night,
    Shining brighter than the daylight,
All decorated in diyas and lamps,
Every house rinsed of all the sins,
    For The Awaited Homecoming Prince.

When we stayed up really late,
Making rangolis so full of colours,
And staring up at the night sky,
    For that explosion of colours,
Happening only once in a while,
    Lighting up that moonless sky.

    When LEDs were indeed rare,
    And electricity rather erratic.
We stayed up through the night,
    Eating sweets, playing games,
Trying to keep all the Diyas alive,
On that awaited, cold, windy night.

    In Anticipation

I could not wait to tell you,
How excited I am right now,
    In anticipation of tomorrow,
    What it will bring along,
But I don't wanna jinx it,
What if it all goes horribly wrong,
I don't want to feel happy,
    Atleast not right now,
    Because of the disappointment,
    That it might bring along,
Maybe I am a bit scared,
Or this is my anxiety talking,
Or maybe I know too well,
    Something always goes wrong,
    But what if it doesn't?
Am I robbing myself of pure ecstasy?
    And now I am overthinking,
Sucking the joy out of me,
    Making everything appear dull,
No matter how perfect it is and will be.

A cold night, sitting under the open sky,
You told me a beautiful lie,
I kept staring at a shooting star,
You sold me an innocent dream,
I bought the strings of hope,
So began the journey to find the one,
The soulmate that you have recently found.

Years flew by, you never really left,
Three relationships and seven breakups later,
Here we are again back together,
Maybe we will never be soulmates,
But I am now living that beautiful dream,
Stars really make wish come true,
Maybe next time you will simply cheat,
Atleast I won't have to go through this again.

    If

If the world was ending tomorrow,
I would have swum the seven seas,
Just to be beside you, to see you,
Even if only for one lasting moment,
Only if the world was ending tomorrow.

    InSight

    My vision is blurry,
    I can't see clearly,
    I miss all the beauty,
And also all that is ugly.

    I don't get distracted,
By all that's in my sight,
    But incapable of finding,
    Any eye-catching site.

    I can't have any clarity,
    From a distant glance,
    Need a magnifying glass,
    Before taking any stance.

    Yet somehow,
    My world still sparkles,
Or maybe it's just the glare,
    From my big spectacles.

    I Wonder

I wonder why I woke up feeling sad
Where I am in a sorry state of despair
I was so happy when I went to bed
Maybe I simply had a bad nightmare

Regardless, I still have to shine all day
With the same old intensity, at the least
I wonder how the Sun feels every day
Setting in the west, rising from the east

    The Breathtaking Attacks

You were gasping for your breath,
    Watching you calmly, scared within,
Taking your hand, I sat beside you,
    Foreseeing what gonna happen again,
Whispering in your ears, I reassured you.

Wondering how I ignored the signs,
    Your inflammation and your dehydration,
Your hot flashes and your cold sweats,
Your silly fears and your frequent tears,
Only to realize when it was too late,
When you were gasping for breath again.

Recalling how I had panicked back then,
How I jumped around trying to save you,
Somehow magically, you lived and survived,
Were you choking or had an asthma attack,
I never figured out until I suffered myself,

Slowly, as you began to catch your breath,
Tears still flowing from dead-looking eyes,
Still holding your hand, I gave you water,
Wiping your tears, I was burning in regret,
Contemplating what you had to go through,
All because I raised my voice yelling at you.
