Missed Roads
The roads we never took,
sometimes beckons me in the middle of the night
The slumber has left the room
And am left wide awake to ponder the unknown
Should you turn your head to look back
What would you see
Does what you see spritz a pleasant scent
Or does that leave a stale taste
Or does that leave you with a blank canvas
Should you pick that brush to fill it with colors
Or is it meant to be left on a pause, in a forbidden state
Ever wonder if roads unexplored were tested, before the detour
Should we bother to test waters
Or let the sleeping dogs lie
Wait, put a pin in it
Will be circling back on this another night!
