Cradle of time
By Bhavya Gogia
Seasons pass and so do months
I witness silently the day and the night
Birds on trees, clouds in the sky
And I am locked away in the cradle of time
The midnight rage burning through my skin
Noon's dizziness pours in my mind
The evenings befall and so comes the morn
While I am locked away in the cradle of time
There comes the rain, there comes the fall
The sun & moon with all phases arrive
Brightness of the skies dull monsoon engulfs
While I am locked away in the cradle of time
I see the young girl in a heart hanging on the muntin
Now to her disbelief she's grown by thrice
She wishes to break away and be free
But she's locked away in the cradle of time
She lives away in books, she knows a saviour
But in this mortal frame, she feels so confined
To attain liberation I hang on to some hope
While I am locked away in the cradle of time
