    Memory of a rain

Oh how hard did it rain..
Lashes of brutal waves upon the red earth
And look how it washed away our traces
    Like an early morning dream,forgotten.
    Like two shadows, obliterated
    by the waking light.
Now the rain recedes into the clouds.
And the water seeps into the barren earth.
Everything is just as it was.
    Everything, forgotten.
Just the charring burn of a thunderbolt
Keeps it memory on the silent earth.
