Some words that carved their vicious knives,
The tumbling out of thunderous lies
Holding the ocean in your palms
You still wait in the storms , only they can calm

How far does it take you, with only one shoe
The other waiting , mocking the running you
Handpicked moments , precious years
You wait and pray that the thick fog clears

The key to your smiles , the door to your tears
Make some copies , number them with years
Some stay , some leave
Some laugh, some grieve

You ask me what does hope look like ?
I say i find it every night
When the eyes finally drift away with the sands
I know I'll wake up where the sunshine lands
