[mercy of time]
Routine beats you up often /but sometimes a day comes with mercy / it takes you to a place /which feels like home / a home you never had/but you've seen in your dreams/vertiges of anxiety are long gone from your heart /you aren't trying to reach somewhere /in fact, wherever you are / is where you're meant to be / and the time just watches you from distance / and says-'Live! I won't defeat you today'

Dust used to be other things/
A mountain that stood in
Your way/a wall, where you
Expected a door /a hurricane
That came to disrupt you

How much a heart can hold
A heart can hold millions
Of gold tinted evenings
/a mother
Fretting over one thing
After the other/a bus ride
Towards the place you're
Dying to reach/a
Bougainvillea embracing
A rusty wall/
a hold of
Hands that stirs a sea of
Longings and belonging
Within /may be my
Heart is a black hole/
And it has swallowed
You.

Note to self
Bring yourself flowers,
Because you're the grave
Of what you once were,
Also the Womb that'll
Give birth to eveything
You'll ever be.

Now that you've entered
This new year /I wish your
'Now' be so beguiling/that
You forget the past/and
Don't fret about the future /
I wish you plant the seeds
Of self-love in your being /
And reap its perennial
Harvest /may kindness be
An heirloom that you
Receive /and hand it forward /
May love find every way to
You/ with the ease of your
mother tongue melting in
Your mouth.

Now that you're bringing
Me love/make it of the colour
Of my favorite mundane habit/
As cotton-soft ease/of my
Fingers while lingering on/my
Plants /in the shape
of a smile /that slyly
spreads ear to ear /as
fierce as the first light
of the dawn/that slits
the hopeless /darkest hour.

May your mind be
A beautiful garden /
With flowerbeds of
Acceptance in bloom/
May it resist no weed/
But only tend to its
Blossoms

An old story is flaking
Off /you used to be a
Distant place /I couldn't
Reach /no matter how
Much I walked /now
You have become a
Serene Landscape /I'm
The sun/and
I'm your moon
-Sayali Parkar -
sayaliparkar 29w
An old story is flaking
Off/I have mothered
Myself through storms /
While I'm unware of
Tomorrow/ I have learned
To live today /hands which
Always tried to desperately
Hold onto things /are
Bravely letting go/a heart
Which used to chew on
Itself /while looking for
Happiness outwards/has
Found it inwards /I have
Passed through the/
Tunnel of darkness /only
To emerge as light.

Dust motes
I glance at the pile
Of trailing yesterdays /
Each had shone it's light
On me /to help me find
Myself / I hear them
Whisper,
'Even the
Insignificant dust motes
Look divine in a shaft of
Light, imagine what it
Could do to you,
Surrender to light'

Note to Mirakeeans...
If we want to earn any respect as a poet/writer
the least we can do is...
respect our language of expression
invest time on learning it
and ensure that our post is grammatically correct.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's sad that people here are concentrating on quantity...
they just write anything and post it
not even checking once before posting
and the worst is... they don't even seem to care
that their post is full of mistakes.
This attitude clearly means one thing
writing or poetry is not their passion
only being popular is...
Remember that such popularity will be short lived.
Good literature has to survive the test of time... if you want real popularity improve the quality of your work.
thanks and best wishes,
-Yamini -

"Rebellious dream
calls her name,
dear woman,
be liberated,
with courage,
no need for shame,
it’s time to let your
true nature be revealed,
let your magic spell,
no need for fear,
unfold your wings,
flap them in the wind,
for the sky is yours,
so proudly display
your glorious spirit,
be bold and free,
let the world see
your daring side"

By chasing the footsteps of others
